@Orchard LLC is actively recruiting a Software Engineer focused on Test/QA Engineering to design and scale modern automation platforms that support high-quality, high-velocity software delivery. This role combines automation engineering, CI/CD pipeline design, and cloud-aware testing practices, offering the opportunity to influence how enterprise systems are built, tested, and released. You will collaborate across engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to integrate testing deeply into development workflows, improve observability and reliability, and ensure quality at scale across distributed systems.t Infrastructure Engineer

As the Software/QA Test Engineer, you will be expected to.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive automation frameworks for API and Web applications.
  • Implement automated tests across multiple layers, including unit, component, integration, functional, performance, and scenario testing.
  • Architect and enhance automation test platforms to support long-term scalability and maintainability.
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, including branching strategies, merging processes, version control, and deployment automation.
  • Support performance testing, chaos testing, and security testing activities.
  • Contribute to cloud migration efforts and ongoing cloud environment management.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test coverage, release efficiency, and production system health.
  • Apply expertise in testing, testability, and secure engineering practices to influence software design and development.
  • Develop SQL queries and implement data seeding strategies to support automated testing.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks and provide recommendations for adoption.

Your background and education will need to include.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience:
    • Designing and implementing QA strategies and automation frameworks.
    • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, JUnit, TestNG, Maven, and ETL batch testing.
    • Strong background in DevOps and CI/CD pipeline engineering (e.g., Jenkins Core, monorepo environments, LWC).
    • Proficiency with Git based source control systems (GitHub, Bitbucket/Stash, Sourcetree).
    • Preferred programming skills in Java, JavaScript, and Node.js.
    • Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Splunk, Datadog).
    • Experience with performance testing and chaos engineering practices.
    • Solid understanding of accessibility standards and testing accessible web experiences.
    • Cloud experience preferred, particularly with AWS.
    • AWS certification is considered an advantage

Compensation: Compensation ranges are determined by several factors, including skill set, experience, licensure and certifications, and location. The anticipated range for a base salary for this role is between $90 & $100K. There may be some flexibility for exceptionally qualified individuals.
