Senior Software Engineer – AI Automation & Enterprise Integration


Remote – US-Based Only

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Integration team — a cloud-native team building APIs and microservices that connect healthcare supply chain systems across ERPs and trading partners. This is not a traditional coding-only role. The primary mandate is to lead the team’s adoption and application of Claude AI, building skills and agents that automate engineering processes, streamline deployments, and accelerate delivery. You will serve as the liaison between the team and internal AI organization, identifying which AI capabilities can be applied to our workflows and driving implementation.

 

What You’ll Own

Claude AI & Agent Leadership (Primary Focus)

•       Design, build, and maintain Claude-powered skills and agents that automate engineering workflows - not for writing code, but for automating processes: deployment prep, pull request management, code reviews, environment setup, and release timing.

•       Serve as the team’s lead on Claude Code adoption - setting standards, coaching engineers, and building repeatable patterns.

•       Act as liaison between the team and internal AI team - evaluating what AI capabilities exist internally and determining what applies to Fusion’s needs.

•       Identify manual, time-consuming engineering processes and design agent-based solutions to reduce effort and cycle time.

•       Stay current on Claude capabilities and translate new features into practical team applications.

Engineering & Integration

•       Develop Java-based REST APIs and microservices in a fully cloud-hosted AWS environment.

•       Contribute to and lead technical design for enterprise integration solutions connecting ERPs, cloud platforms, and trading partners.

•       Maintain and improve existing integrations; identify systemic improvements and drive them to completion.

•       Collaborate with QA, product, and cross-functional stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment.

•       Lead code and design reviews; guide the team on best practices.

•       Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Required Qualifications

•       Hands-on Claude Code experience - you have used it in a real workflow, not just explored it

•       Experience building Claude skills and/or agents that automate real processes

•       AWS cloud infrastructure experience

•       Strong Java development background (we value depth; years are flexible for the right candidate)

•       REST API and microservices experience

•       Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

•       Ability to work independently across multiple priorities

•       Strong communicator - able to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

•       8+ years of Java development experience

•       Experience with Spring framework

•       Angular application development

•       B2B / enterprise system integration experience (EDI, ERP, SCM, MMIS)

•       CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar)

•       Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

•       Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams

•       Healthcare supply chain domain knowledge

Compensation

Estimated salary range: $128,000 – $152,000. Full-time position. No C2C. No visa sponsorship.
