Remote or On-site? Candidates must be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. This position will work mostly remote from within the State of Wisconsin. There may be a requirement to come into the office as needed, likely no more than twice per year.
Project details: The ideal candidate will play a hands-on senior technologist/lead role in modernizing State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation web application(s). Within this modernization effort the candidate will provide technical expertise in migrating application(s) to Spring Boot, upgrading Java versions, updating presentation layer technologies, migrating applications to container hosted environments, and provide guidance in the development of a DevSecOps and CI/CD development pipeline following industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will play a hands-on senior technologist role in modernizing, enhancing, and

candidate will provide technical expertise in developing solutions in Spring Boot, upgrading Java versions,

provide guidance in the development of a DevSecOps, and CI/CD development pipeline following
industry best practices. The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and support of
enterprise-wide application(s). We are looking for someone with strong hands-on development
experience in Java, SQL, PL/SQL, MVC pattern implementation (Spring), full lifecycle testing,
microservice architecture patterns, and Agile Scrum project management methodology. Strong
experience in analyzing and dealing with complex SQLs and nested queries is a MUST. Strong
candidates should also have experience with container creation and deployment, DevSecOps best
practices, and modern presentation layer technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Enhance existing application(s) with new features as well as modernizing existing application(s)

- Architect, Design, develop and implement application development solutions independently.
- Develop testing methodology and criteria and implement them on automated build processes.
- Develop solutions in Spring Boot, Java, SQL following industry best practices.

- Mentor others in the team and function as Senior technologist that others including the lead can
rely on.
