Job description

Victor Energy Ltd. is a powerline contractor with over 20 years' experience building Alberta's electrical infrastructure, owned by Java Holdings Ltd. Java Holdings Ltd. owns a portfolio of companies in North America and Europe and is engaged in its acquisitions providing high level execution support for large utility, oil and gas, and power generation projects, specializing in EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Management). As part of the Java Group, Victor Energy's staff have over 50 years of experience building some of Canada's largest electrical infrastructure projects.

As our team grows, we are seeking an IT Infrastructure Analyst to be the primary support contact for both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments across geographically distributed sites. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, security, and performance of infrastructure systems supporting corporate IT services and industrial/operational systems.

The successful candidate will serve as a hands-on technical resource, acting as the escalation point for infrastructure issues, coordinating on-site support, and partnering closely with central IT teams, vendors, and site operations personnel. This position requires strong technical depth, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate independently in remote and field-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

IT & OT Infrastructure Support

Act as the main point of contact for IT and OT infrastructure support across assigned sites

Support and troubleshoot infrastructure components including:

o Servers (physical and virtual)

o Network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless)

o End-user connectivity and site communications

o OT network segments and industrial system connectivity

Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting for incidents impacting production, safety, or business operations

Operational Technology (OT) Support

Support OT-related infrastructure in coordination with operations, engineering, and vendors

Assist with network segmentation, access control, and secure connectivity between IT and OT environments

Ensure OT systems remain stable, secure, and compliant with organizational standards

Participate in OT deployments, upgrades, and site expansions

Support the networking requirements for industrial control systems (SCADA, PLCs, and IoT sensors) to ensure seamless data flow between the plant floor and corporate servers.

Site & Field Operations

Travel regularly to remote sites to perform:

o Installations and upgrades

o Infrastructure assessments

o Root-cause analysis and remediation

o New site bring-ups and network expansions

Serve as the technical liaison between site personnel and centralized IT teams

Maintain accurate site documentation, diagrams, and asset inventories

Infrastructure Lifecycle & Projects

Participate in infrastructure projects including:

o Network refreshes

o Server and storage deployments

o Cloud and hybrid integration initiatives

o OT modernization efforts

Work with vendors and service providers for implementation and support activities

Ensure solutions align with security, performance, and scalability standards

Security & Compliance

Apply IT and OT security best practices, including:

o Network segmentation

o Access controls

o Patch and vulnerability management

Support audits, risk assessments, and incident response activities related to infrastructure and OT systems

Requirements

5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure support or operations

Strong hands-on experience with:

o Enterprise networking (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi)

o Windows Server and/or Linux environments

o Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

Experience supporting or working alongside Operational Technology (OT) or industrial systems

Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layer infrastructure issues

Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work independently at remote sites

Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air and ground as required
