Our client seeks a Lead Java Developer and Architect to design, architect, and deliver complex enterprise systems. The role requires deep hands-on engineering, leadership across distributed teams, and a focus on cloud-native architectures, event-driven microservices, and modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver complex, long-term projects with multiple teams and external dependencies.
  • Oversee architecture, design, implementation, maintenance, support, and technical debt management across multiple projects.
  • Lead architecture for new systems and technologies, aligning to functional and non-functional requirements with clear documentation and diagrams.
  • Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to support new technology adoption.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards, coding patterns, and code review guidelines across teams.
  • Communicate complex design and architectural concepts to engineering teams and business stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation in solution design for large-scale applications.
  • Mentor and train developers to resolve technical challenges and grow skills.

Experience Requirements:
  • 10+ years as an Architect, Technical Lead, Consultant, or Software Engineer with hands-on implementation.
  • Deep experience with Java SE/EE and Spring (Spring Boot, Spring MVC).
  • Strong experience building RESTful services with Spring.
  • Cloud-native solution design on AWS or Azure with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Event-driven microservices experience and AWS services usage.
  • Version control with Git and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
  • Unit testing with frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
  • Highly skilled SQL development and database management.
  • Familiarity with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong troubleshooting, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration within Agile teams.
  • Pluses: Healthcare data experience (FHIR, HL7), integration patterns, QA automation, messaging (Kafka, SQS, Kinesis, IBM MQ), containerized or serverless architectures, and exposure to NoSQL or large-scale data platforms such as Databricks.
