Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Delivery Engineer | Splunk, will provide technical expertise in providing guidance on levels of effort for configuring, installing, and developing against Splunk: platform for operational intelligence. This position is a customer facing role and will be responsible for delivering project related consulting services to analyze the massive streams of machine data generated by IT systems and technology infrastructure-physical, virtual and in the cloud.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive complex deployments and integration of Splunk while working side by side with the customers to solve their unique problems across a variety of use cases.
  • Collaborate across the entire organization to bring access to product and technical teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation gathered from customer input.
  • Leverage previous experiences, share best practices and create innovative solutions to push user adoption and maximize the value of Splunk.
  • Collaborate with and enable customers to solve the next wave of questions on their own.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 3 years of current experience in technical consulting or big data analytics.
  • Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand data from multiple disparate sources and how it relates to the customer's business.
  • Demonstrable understanding of common enterprise applications (especially in the areas of security and finance).
  • Experience with both the Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface.
  • Working knowledge and recent experience with scripting languages (bash), application development (java, python, .NET), databases and analytical tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical consumers from IT administrators to executive level stakeholders.
  • Well organized with a healthy sense of urgency - able to set, communicate, and meet aggressive deadlines with competing priorities.
  • Excellent speaking and customer interaction skills.
  • Not required, but a plus: statistical and analytical modeling.
  • This is a remote, contract position and eligible candidates must be located in the United States.

  • BA/BS in computer science, computer engineering, finance or mathematics or other related fields
