Analyst, Business & Strategy

Remote-based position

About Catalyst IQ

Catalyst IQ is a digital marketing intelligence company built on more than a decade of experience in the automotive dealer vertical. As a part of Advance Local, we operate at the intersection of dealer relationships, proprietary data, and AI-driven platform technology. Our core product, MarketAI, delivers real-time competitive recommendations, pricing signals, and inventory insights that tell dealers not just what's happening in their market, but what to do next.

We're not so big that anyone is above the work. Our teams build, execute, and iterate together, and this role sits right at that intersection of hands-on analysis and real impact on how we grow, retain, and run the business.

About the Role

The Analyst, Business & Strategy will help turn data into actionable insights that identify opportunities, improve business performance, and drive revenue growth and retention. This role sits at the intersection of MarketAI, sales, finance, operations, and executive leadership.

You'll focus on three primary areas: business performance analytics drawn from HubSpot, NetSuite, AOS, and other internal systems to improve retention, expansion, operational efficiency, and profitability; management and corporate reporting, including profitability reporting, KPI measurement, OKR tracking, and materials supporting leadership and Board reviews; and analytics that help our sales and Client Success teams identify customer and market opportunities and strengthen dealer recommendations.

What You'll Do

Business and Financial Analytics

  • Analyze business, financial, customer, product, and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and drivers of performance.
  • Translate findings into timely, actionable recommendations that improve retention, growth, efficiency, resource allocation and profitability.

KPI, OKR, and Executive Reporting

  • Maintain dashboards and reporting for key KPIs, corporate OKRs, and monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews.
  • Prepare clear, decision-oriented reporting for Catalyst IQ leadership, Advance Automotive leadership and Board review.

MarketAI and Revenue Analytics

  • Analyze MarketAI, customer, market, inventory, and competitive data to identify revenue, retention, cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
  • Create repeatable insights, reporting, and sales tools that help Sales and Client Success teams strengthen customer recommendations and demonstrate value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, analytics, data, economics, information systems, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years' experience in business analytics, financial analysis, strategy, operations, or a related field, with automotive industry experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into clear business recommendations
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with BI and reporting tools such as Power BI
  • Experience working with ERP, CRM, order management, or financial systems; NetSuite experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey analytical findings to sales teams, functional leaders and senior executives
  • Ability to work across multiple functions and manage a diverse set of analytical priorities
  • Digital marketing, SaaS, or AI data and analytics experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify questions worth answering, and proactively pursue insights rather than simply respond to reporting requests
  • Strong business judgment and curiosity, with the ability to connect data to commercial and operational outcomes

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will help Catalyst IQ create a stronger connection between the intelligence we provide our customers and the intelligence we use to run our own business. This person will make MarketAI insights more actionable for our sales organization, help identify opportunities to grow and retain revenue, improve leadership visibility into business performance, and create a more disciplined approach to measuring profitability, KPIs, OKRs, and overall company performance. Success will ultimately be measured by the business impact of the insights this person uncovers, not simply by the reports or dashboards they produce.
