Job description

Job Overview:
The Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of conveyor and automation system installation activities at assigned customer sites. This role ensures installations are completed safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with customer specifications, engineering documentation, and company standards. The Site Manager provides on-site leadership to installation crews and subcontractors, manages material receiving and inventory control, maintains accurate daily reporting, and supports punch list resolution, commissioning readiness, and system turnover to the customer.
Job Functions:
Site Execution and Supervision
  • Manage daily on-site installation activities for conveyor and automation systems.
  • Direct installation crews and subcontractors to ensure work is executed per approved drawings, specifications, and installation standards.
  • Coordinate daily work plans, manpower assignments, and task sequencing to meet project milestones.
  • Serve as the primary on-site representative for installation activities.

Installation Quality & Customer Specification Compliance
  • Ensure all installation work complies with customer specifications, contractual requirements, and approved engineering drawings.
  • Identify and resolve installation issues, field conflicts, and deviations in coordination with Engineering and Project Management.
  • Prevent rework through strict adherence to installation standards and quality expectations.
  • Participate in site inspections, audits, and quality reviews.

Material Receiving & Inventory Control
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials and equipment at the job site.
  • Verify deliveries against packing lists and drawings and report shortages or damages immediately.
  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking, labeling, and secure storage of materials.
  • Coordinate material needs, shortages, and returns with the Site Manager Team Lead and Project Team.

Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare accurate daily progress reports, manpower logs, and installation status updates.
  • Track installed quantities and percent complete against the project schedule.
  • Document installation issues, delays, and constraints impacting productivity or schedule.
  • Maintain organized site documentation, including permits, inspection records, and material logs

Punch List & Closeout Management
  • Support punch list development, tracking, and closure in coordination with the Site Manager Team Lead and commissioning teams.
  • Ensure corrective actions are completed efficiently and to quality standards.
  • Support system turnover activities, documentation handover, and site demobilization.

Safety Oversight
  • Enforce all site safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses as required.
  • Monitor work activities to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Report and assist in the investigation of safety incidents and near misses.

Stakeholder Coordination
  • Coordinate daily activities with other trades, contractors, and customer representatives.
  • Maintain professional, customer-focused communication on site.
  • Escalate safety, quality, schedule, or material issues promptly to the Project Manager and Site Manager Team Lead

Key Objectives
  • Execute safe, efficient, and high-quality installation activities.
  • Maintain strict compliance with customer specifications and approved drawings.
  • Ensure accurate material control and minimize loss or damage.
  • Provide reliable, transparent reporting of site progress and issues.
  • Support on-time system readiness for commissioning and customer acceptance.

Travel Requirements:
  • Travel up to 80%
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends or off shifts as project schedules require.
  • Occasional extended site assignments may be required based on project needs.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within the Material Handling Industry.
  • Prior experience in a site supervision or lead installer role strongly preferred
  • Experience in conveyor systems, material handling, or industrial installation environments
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical installation practices and site logistics
  • Experience with material receiving, inventory control, and jobsite logistics
  • Ability to read and interpret layout drawings, installation details, and customer specifications
  • Strong safety leadership with working knowledge of OSHA and site safety programs
  • Proven ability to lead field crews and coordinate subcontractors.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in active manufacturing and construction environments
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
