Job description

Title: SAP MDG Consultant
Location: Remote

 

Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG & Supply Chain Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Master Data Governance (MDG) and Supply Chain Management (SCM). The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end MDG implementations, ensure master data consistency across global supply chain operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Implement and configure SAP MDG for Materials, Business Partner, Supplier, and Customer domains. 

  • Design and manage BRF+ rules, validations, derivations, and rule-based workflows. 

  • Perform data modeling, UI modeling, and process modeling for MDG applications. 

  • Execute data replication using DRF, SOA, ALE/IDoc and manage replication variants. 

  • Support CVI mapping for BP integration with Customer & Vendor master data. 

  • Deliver data migration and transformation using DIF, BDC, and SAP tools. 

  • Collaborate with SCM teams across Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality Management, and Inventory. 

  • Configure material views for BOM, routing, production orders, and costing in S/4HANA. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues impacting supply chain transactions (GR, PO, SO, delivery, invoice). 

  • Enhance MDG data models to support SCM fields (MRP type, lot size, safety stock, QM inspection setup). 

  • Integrate MDG with SuccessFactors, Salesforce, Siebel, and non-SAP systems. 

  • Prepare technical specifications, coordinate testing, and manage transport activities. 

Required Skills & Expertise 

  • SAP MDG: MDG-M, MDG-BP, MDG-Supplier, MDG-Customer, MDF-F 

  • SCM Modules: MM, QM, SD, PP, WM, EWM 

  • Workflow & Rules: BRF+, BADIs, FPM 

  • Replication: DRF, SOA, ALE/IDoc 

  • Technical: SAP S/4HANA (1809/1909), SAP HANA, ABAP, WebDynpro, Fiori/UI5 

  • Migration Tools: DIF, BODS, Migration Cockpit, BDC 

  • Strong knowledge of data governance, integration, and performance optimization. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in global supply chain environments across industries like Oil and refinery, Electronics, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, Retail & Services. 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Ability to mentor and guide teams on MDG processes and best practices.
