  • Sharpen Your Litigation Strategy Skills: Analyze intricate legal issues, develop case strategy, conduct extensive legal research, and draft substantive motions that have a meaningful impact on case outcomes.
  • Partner with Experienced Trial Attorneys: Work alongside accomplished complex litigation attorneys, gaining mentorship and hands-on experience in some of the organization's most significant cases.
  • Meaningful Involvement in Trial Preparation: Participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, expert coordination, and trial preparation while helping build compelling case themes and defense strategies.
  • Flexibility Meets Innovation: Enjoy the autonomy of a remote work environment while leveraging advanced case management systems and progressive AI-enabled tools. Work from home day to day, with in-person collaboration and appearances as needed.
  • Comprehensive Rewards Package: Benefit from competitive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) with company match, annual incentive bonus, paid time off, paid holidays, fitness reimbursement, company-provided phone, internet reimbursement, and reimbursed business travel and parking expense.
  • Invested in Your Growth: Build your career through ongoing training, mentorship, professional development opportunities, and a clear path to expand your expertise and take on greater responsibility.

What you will do:
  • Analyze intricate substantive and procedural legal and factual issues.
  • Conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions (e.g., motions for summary judgment, demurrers, motions to strike, etc.), discovery motions, discovery, and discovery responses.
  • Compile exhibits and review documents; prepare memoranda that analyze evidence and recommend next steps; find and coordinate with experts; conduct legal research and analysis; prepare trial documents, among other tasks.
  • Assist with trial preparation / possibly attend trial and participate in trial tasks.
  • Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice and other services to the senior attorneys on the complex litigation team, clients, and claims customers on legal and factual issues in a technology driven environment.
  • Communicate with court, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures.
  • May take depositions, appear in court, attend client and expert meetings and assist with mediation, arbitration and trial and may communicate with clients.
  • Apply strong legal research and writing skills, attention to detail, organization, strategic thinking, and collaboration to support complex litigation matters and deliver high-quality work across all aspects of your responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of legal practice experience handling tort defense matters.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Domicile in California, active license to practice in California, and ability to appear in applicable local state and federal courts.
