Job description

CPMG is seeking board certified or board eligible Family Medicine physician to provide services for the medical group in the Telehealth department. Experience in telehealth preferred.
Telehealth physicians will cover Video, Phone and Chat on-demand encounters with a doctor. Shift work currently includes encounters in two telehealth channels, Get Care Now and Chat. The current hours of work are below and occur 365 days a year including holidays, evenings, overnight and weekends and are subject to change. Chat is 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week. Get Care Now is 7am to 10pm, 7 days a week. 25% of shifts will be evenings and weekends.
Telehealth physicians must have access to HealthConnect, WDE, Global Protect, Korbyt, Dexcare and all necessary telehealth platforms. Physicians are allowed to work remotely, provided the remote internet connection is secure, and bandwidth is sufficient to manage the appointment types above. When home connection is not reliably available, physicians will work from a KP facility.
Telehealth physicians manage member concerns and offer home advice and treatment or refer to the appropriate higher level of care within KPCO's preferred network or help navigate care options for members who are not in the geographic network area. Telehealth physicians will develop expertise in Colorado's care venues and their respective capabilities, as well as standards for caring for our members remotely.
This position requires Colorado residency.
Major Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide members with high quality virtual care options and develop expertise in all of Colorado's telehealth venues.
  • Serve as extension of primary care to include covering care gaps and chronic conditions when appropriate.
  • Manage a wide array of patient concerns, including episodic care as well as assisting in chronic care management and preventive care, providing care via telehealth or referrals for face-to-face care as appropriate.
  • Develop expertise in venue management for members throughout the region, working closely with Nurse Advice, Message Management and TMC to improve care navigation for our members.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with patients through video, phone, and chat encounters.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous chat encounters and be able to navigate between the telehealth channels.
  • Develop expertise in efficient use of WDE, Korbyt, Epic HealthConnect, Dexcare and other platforms as becomes necessary.
  • Contribute to efforts at system improvement, including telehealth QA and development and refinement of training materials, as well as mentoring new providers.
  • Develop good 'webside manner'. Maintain and be responsive to member ratings.
  • Maintain flexibility in staffing telehealth venues and moving to cover venues with greatest need as directed by Associate Medical Director of telehealth.
  • Participate in department meetings as necessary.
  • Plan vacation and other PTO in coordination with other telehealth physicians to help maintain adequate coverage and adjust for expected seasonal variability.
  • Cover a proportional segment of adverse hours including weekend, evening, and national holiday shifts.
  • Maintain appropriate work from home environment including professional background and quiet space from which to work without distractions.
  • Maintain appropriate efficiency and disposition of patients to align with the department's KPI's.
