Pentair is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead commercial growth and market expansion across the East region of the United States. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, influencing specification and Basis of Design decisions, and developing a high-performing team of Territory Sales Managers focused on demand creation, customer engagement, and market penetration.

The Regional Sales Manager will lead a geographically dispersed sales team while partnering closely with distributors, engineers, consultants, contractors, OEMs, end users, and internal stakeholders to accelerate growth across strategic markets. This leader will foster a culture of accountability, proactive business development, and customer-centric selling.

You will:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Territory Sales Managers across the region, fostering a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and customer success
  • Conduct regular sales reviews, pipeline inspections, and provide guidance to team members to ensure achievement of regional sales objectives
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Territory Sales Managers to achieve regional revenue, profitability, and growth objectives.
  • Build a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute regional business plans that align with Pentair's strategic growth priorities.
  • Drive demand creation activities that influence specification and Basis of Design decisions with distributors, engineering firms, consultants, contractors, and end users.
  • Expand market share by identifying new customer opportunities and developing strategic growth initiatives.
  • Establish strong relationships with key customers, channel partners, consultants, and industry influencers throughout the region.
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews, opportunity assessments, and forecast discussions to improve commercial effectiveness and forecasting accuracy.
  • Coach team members on consultative selling, value-based conversations, opportunity development, and commercial execution.
  • Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Service, and Business Development teams to support growth initiatives and product adoption.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify emerging opportunities and risks.
  • Lead territory planning and resource allocation activities to maximize regional performance.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive sales, business development, or commercial leadership experience.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience leading remote or geographically dispersed sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success delivering profitable growth through new business development, market expansion, and customer acquisition.
  • Experience influencing specifications, Basis of Design decisions, or other upstream purchasing decisions within complex sales cycles.
  • Have 5+ years of people leadership experience with responsibility for coaching, developing, and leading field sales professionals
  • Experience with mechanical rotating equipment, such as centrifugal pumps.
  • Experience working with HVAC, fire, and/or commercial plumbing systems preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including experience presenting to engineering firms & building owners.
  • Ability to utilize relevant software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite, CRM (e.g. Salesforce) and equipment selection software (e.g. Encompass).

Travel:

  • Up to 40% travel to distributors, customers, events, tradeshows, and other business-related meetings.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $114,000 - $211,800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as an annual incentive bonus.
