Optum Rx is seeking a Project Manager to lead Specialty implementations for commercial clients, including direct and coalition accounts, Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), and Health Plans. This role serves as a key liaison between clients and internal business partners, ensuring successful implementation, seamless onboarding, and service delivery throughout the project lifecycle.


You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
 

 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage Specialty Pharmacy implementations for Optum Rx commercial clients, including TPAs, Health Plans, and new client groups
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the implementation process, providing consultative support and project leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal business partners
  • Develop and manage implementation plans, timelines, milestones, and communication strategies
  • Monitor and support new patient transitions during the first 30 days following go-live
  • Analyze client reports, identify trends, and recommend solutions to improve performance and outcomes
  • Facilitate client meetings, presentations, and status updates throughout the implementation process
  • Identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolutions to ensure project success
  • Transition completed implementations to ongoing Account Management teams
  • Participate in implementation improvement initiatives and process enhancement projects
  • Travel occasionally to client sites or service centers as needed (less than 10%)

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 years of project management experience, preferably supporting implementations
  • 1 years of client management, account management, or client implementation experience
  • Experience working cross-functionally with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), healthcare account management, or related healthcare experience
  • Experience with online reporting and analytics databases
  • Experience presenting information and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
  • Specialty Pharmacy, PBM, Health Plan, or managed care experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
