Job description

Trade Sales Executive, San Francisco Bay Area

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (remote, in-market) Compensation: Base salary plus uncapped commission. Our top producers earn well into six figures. Experience: Established trade relationships in the Bay Area design community

The Opportunity

2Modern has been selling modern design since 2003. We carry more than 300 premium brands, including Fritz Hansen, Cappellini, House of Finn Juhl, DEDON, Audo Copenhagen, Moroso and FLOS, and we work with designers, architects, and developers across the country.. We are building our presence in the San Francisco Bay Area and looking for a well-connected, design-fluent sales professional to develop and grow relationships with the region's top design community.

This role is grounded in the Bay Area. You know the market, you know the designers, and you are known by them. You will be supported by 2Modern's curated assortment of 300+ premium brands, a dedicated trade program, and the 2Modern Residence, our appointment-only San Francisco showroom featuring high-end design for private tours and client events.

Why this role is different

Your network is the job. We are looking for someone who already knows the designers, architects, and specifiers here, and who they already trust.

Depth of assortment. More than 300 premium brands with regional exclusivity.

A solid team supporting you. An in-house interior designer for space planning and design boards, a logistics team handling consolidated delivery and installation, and a marketing team that helps keep you in front of your clients.

Geographic exclusivity. As we build the region out, there is opportunity to become the sole point of contact for select high-end brands in your territory.

Autonomy. We have been fully remote since 2003. We hire people who know how to run their own book and then let them run it.

Requirements

What you will do
  • Build and grow a personal book with interior designers, architects, and design firms across the Bay Area
  • Work upstream on specification, not downstream on price, partnering with clients early in the design process
  • Host private tours, dinners, and events at the Residence
  • Manage complex, multi-vendor projects from specification through installation
  • Protect margin while structuring pricing that wins the work
  • Partner with our design, logistics, and service teams to deliver the concierge experience we are known for
Who we are looking for
  • An active network of designers, architects, and specifiers in the Bay Area, people who would take your call today
  • Deep fluency in premium furniture and lighting brands, and genuine love for the work
  • A track record of building long-term client relationships that produce repeat business
  • Experience running large, multi-line projects
  • Comfort with a CRM (we use Salesforce) and the discipline to keep a pipeline honest
  • Presence and warmth in a room full of designers
