Primary Objectives:ย 
The Business Intelligence Analyst independently designs, develops, and delivers advanced analytics and data visualization solutions that support underwriting, claims, pricing, actuarial, and policy operations. The role applies strong BI, analytics, and data engineering capabilities to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive informed business decisions and measurable performance improvements.ย 

Jobย Responsibilities:ย 

  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced dashboards and analytical reports using Power BI, emphasizing data storytelling and actionable insights.ย 

  • Function asย a technical analytics resource within the Data & Analytics function, exercising independent judgment on matters of significance.ย 

  • Ensure analytics initiatives deliver measurable business value aligned to stakeholder KPIs and strategicย objectives.ย 

  • Perform advanced analytics including segmentation, cohort, root-cause, impact, and statistical significance analysis.ย 

  • Build,ย maintain, andย optimizeย data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MS Fabric and mixed data environments.ย 

  • Translate complex technical outputs into clear insights and recommendations for business partners and senior leadership.ย 

  • Support underwriting, pricing, actuarial, and policy teams with analytics and decision support.ย 

  • Proactivelyย identifyย opportunities to improve portfolio performance, operational efficiency, and analytics best practices.ย 

  • Mentor other analysts and contribute to process, quality, and analytics maturity improvements.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fieldsย 

  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data visualization rolesย 

  • Experience delivering value-adding analytics solutions, ideally within P&C insurance or financial servicesย 

  • Strong awareness of insurance portfolio performance, underwriting rules, rating factors, and decision engines preferredย 

  • Master's degree or professional insurance designation (e.g., CIP) is an assetย 

  • Intermediate to advancedย experience designing, developing, and deploying Power BI dashboards, including DAX and Power Queryย 

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Python and/or R for analytics and data processing is an assetย 

  • Strong SQL skills, including database design, stored procedures, and analytical queryingย 

  • Intermediate to advanced experienceย with ETL and data preparation processes across mixed environmentsย 

  • Intermediateย Working knowledge of Azure data and analytics services, including Databricksย 

  • Intermediate to advanced Excelย proficiency; familiarity with Microsoft Office tools for executive communicationย 

  • Advanced analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to statistical rigorย 

  • Strong ability to communicate complex data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholdersย 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentย

Our base salary range for this role is between $81,720ย and $95,340ย per year, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
