Job description

AI Software Engineer
Miami (Hybrid)
About our crew
Boats Group is the leading digital marketplace in the recreational boating industry, connecting millions of buyers and sellers around the world. Our team of curious technologists, creative problem-solvers, and passionate innovators is redefining how people buy and sell boats through data, automation, and AI-driven experiences.

We believe in solving meaningful problems with elegant, scalable technology. Our culture rewards curiosity, efficiency, and experimentation โ€” encouraging everyone to ask โ€œwhy does it work this way?โ€ and โ€œhow can this be done better?โ€ โ€” then go build the answer. If you thrive in fast-moving environments and love finding smarter ways to work, youโ€™ll fit right in here.

About the Role
Weโ€™re looking for a AI Software Engineer whoโ€™s deeply passionate about curiosity, process efficiency, and automation โ€” someone who naturally looks at any system or workflow and wonders how it could be improved.
In this role, youโ€™ll design and develop AI Agents that automate administrative workflows, streamline operations, and amplify human productivity across the company. Youโ€™ll work with modern AI and automation tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, Zapier, and n8n to build intelligent systems that perform real work at scale.
Your mission: identify friction, remove it, and build AI-powered agents that make our organization faster, smarter, and more efficient.
What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Design, build, and deploy AI-powered Agents that automate and optimize key workflows across teams.
  • Identify high-value opportunities for automation by deeply understanding internal processes and pain points.
  • Use LLMs and automation platforms (OpenAI, Claude Skills, LangChain, Zapier, n8n) to build intelligent, reasoning-based systems that perform tasks end-to-end.
  • Architect and develop scalable backend solutions using Node.js, integrating APIs, databases, and event-driven systems.
  • Prototype and iterate quickly โ€” using experimentation and data to refine agent reliability, performance, and impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business operations into automated, AI-driven workflows.
  • Ensure reliability, security, and ethical design in every automation project.
  • Contribute to the companyโ€™s AI automation strategy, shaping how we deploy Agents across departments and use cases.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with deep expertise in Node.js and modern JavaScript.
  • Proven experience developing or integrating AI Agents, workflow automations, or LLM-powered systems.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI and automation tools such as OpenAI APIs, Claude Skills, LangChain, Zapier, n8n, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
  • A natural systems thinker with a strong orientation toward process efficiency and automation.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented reasoning, and tool orchestration.
  • Experience with modern DevOps practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • A curious, pragmatic, and resourceful mindset โ€” always looking for a faster, smarter, or more elegant way to get things done.
What You'll Receive:
  • Hybrid Work Flexibility: Embrace a balanced work model with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and in-office collaboration from Tuesday to Thursday.
  • Generous Time Off: With a strong focus on work/life balance, we offer all employees paid time off starting on day one, multiple paid holidays throughout the year, your birthday off, and a winter break at the end of the year.
Volunteering Time: Participate in our volunteer program with 4 paid days annually to contribute to your community.
  • Modern Office Perks: Our vibrant Miami office features cutting-edge amenities, such as an electric sit/stand desk, dual monitors, a gym, and a variety of snacks and beverages.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Enjoy top-tier Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, along with a 401(k) plan featuring a 4% match.
  • Commuter Benefits: Park conveniently in our buildingโ€™s garage at no charge to you. For train commuters, we subsidize most, if not all, of your monthly pass expenses.
  • Professional Development: Take advantage of online training, live courses, and additional funds for courses, seminars, and certifications to enhance your skills.
  • Team-Centric Atmosphere: Be part of a close-knit team that prioritizes relationship-building and personal connections.

Who You Are
  • Youโ€™re endlessly curious and canโ€™t help but take things apart to understand how they work โ€” whether itโ€™s code, a workflow, or a business process. You think in systems and patterns, not silos. You automate before you optimize. You see inefficiency as an opportunity and complexity as a puzzle.
  • Youโ€™re energized by emerging technology and love turning abstract ideas into working, measurable results. You care about impact โ€” about building tools that make people faster, happier, and more productive.
  • Above all, you believe AI should make humans better, not busier โ€” and youโ€™re excited to be the person who helps make that real.
