CAS is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer on our Content Technology Team. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Job Accountabilities:
  • Strategic Software Development: Lead multiple Agile Delivery teams in creating innovative software applications, services, and systems, driving the delivery and enhancement of CAS products and solutions.
  • Product Collaboration: Partner with teammates and product owners to groom backlogs of epics and stories for upcoming development sprints, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Engineering Excellence: Push the boundaries of advanced software engineering and automation by spearheading initiatives in automated software testing, advanced change control, DevOps, and continuous delivery.
  • Organizational Influence: Foster influential working relationships across the organization, positioning yourself as a key leader and preparing your career for future leadership roles.
  • Technology Leadership: Stay at the forefront of technology trends through individual and team training opportunities, and mentor team members to elevate their technical skills.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Application Delivery and Software Development.
  • Mastery of the Java/Linux technology stack, including application servers, backend processing, and web tier development.
  • Deep experience in developing on large parallel (Linux) platforms.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Acceptance Criteria, Automated Testing, Test-Driven Development, Defect Tracking, and Test Case management.
  • Advanced-level experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Kafka, Solr/Lucene, and related technologies.
  • Strong proficiency with development and integration tools, including Eclipse, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Unit test Framework, and Tools.
  • Proven track record in programming within large-scale distributed environments, with a keen understanding of concurrency issues (e.g., thread management, shared memory pools).
  • Demonstrated experience leading application delivery teams, with a focus on driving team success and project outcomes.
  • Experience with pair programming or willingness to pair with others when beneficial.
  • Comfortable and eager to discuss work items in team settings, fostering clear and open communication.
  • A strong passion for software development, actively learning on the job and outside of work, and continuously seeking to improve your craft.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and roles to meet the evolving needs of the team.
