This position will be for our new manufacturing facility in Joliet and will initially be employed by Hyundai Translead's corporate office but will be remote from the State of Illinois to support the launch of the Company's new manufacturing facility before transitioning to full time, onsite once the facility is operational.

Pay Range: $97,920 - $117,470

Job Summary

The Sr. Digital Platform Governance Engineer is responsible for establishing and enforcing governance standards across enterprise digital platforms, with a focus on application security, secure development practices, AI development governance, and lifecycle management.

This role ensures that nonSAP platforms and digital solutions are designed, developed, and operated in alignment with secure coding principles, data governance requirements, compliance expectations, and organizational risk standards. The position partners closely with engineering, security, data, and platform teams to embed governance, DevSecOps practices, and documentation discipline into the software development lifecycle while supporting innovation and operational integrity.

Essential Functions
  • Establish and maintain application governance standards across digital platforms, including nonSAP systems.
  • Support application security through secure coding practices, code review standards, and vulnerability identification.
  • Embed governance requirements into the SDLC, including DevSecOps, release management, and change control processes.
  • Support AI development and AI governance practices, including alignment to responsible and ethical AI standards.
  • Review application designs and implementations to ensure compliance with secure coding, documentation standards, and lifecycle governance requirements.
  • Support vulnerability management, including remediation coordination, validation, and remediation tracking.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to digital platforms, application architectures, and data usage.
  • Enforce policy enforcement, documentation standards, and governance checkpoints across development lifecycles.
  • Support data governance requirements, including appropriate handling, integration, and lifecycle controls for application data.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for application governance and secure SDLC implementation.
  • Lead application and AI governance reviews, including risk assessments and documentation validation.
  • Drive consistency in lifecycle governance, release controls, and remediation tracking.
  • Provide guidance to engineers on secure coding and documentation best practices.

Essential Functions (Continued)
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in application governance, secure development practices, and risk assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience with C#/.NET, Java, Android development environments, and lifecycle governance; strong documentation discipline.
Preferred Education and Experience Requirements
  • Experience with AI model validation, AI security controls, and responsible/ethical AI governance practices.
  • Familiarity with SAST/DAST, API security, and automated governance tooling.
  • Exposure to cloud AI platforms, data pipeline governance, and ML observability tools.
  • Experience aligning governance programs with AI and technology compliance frameworks.
