Summary
The Inspector General (IG) is the principal technical advisor to the Director and Deputy Director on all audits, inspections, evaluations, and investigations to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse in DISA programs. The IG initiates and conducts these reviews by leadership direction or independently under the Inspector General Act. Administratively reporting to the Deputy Director, the IG maintains the full independence required to execute the position's duties.

Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides information and advisory support to the Director and Deputy Director on problems, deficiencies, corrective actions, and matters involving audits, investigations, inspections, fraud, waste, and abuse.
Serves as the Agency's senior point of contact for audit follow-up activities, including tracking recommendations from GAO, DoW IG, and internal sources, preparing quarterly reports, and highlighting areas of disagreement or delayed responses for awareness.
Initiates, conducts and supports audits, investigations, evaluations, and organizational assessments across DISA programs and operations in accordance with applicable professional standards (PCIE, GAGAS, GAO, and DoW IG).
Acts as the principal expert and advisor to the Director and Deputy Director on all matters covered by the Inspector General Act of 1978, including the prevention and detection of fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement.
Operates the IG hotline to receive and handle allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse while maintaining controls to protect whistleblower identities and address reprisal complaints.
Reviews and supports audits performed by Independent Public Accountants (IPAs) for compliance with Government auditing and accounting standards, and examines best practices and internal controls from the cybersecurity and IT sectors for potential relevance to DISA.
Coordinates and represents DISA's interests on IG-related matters with external entities such as the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, DoW components, other federal agencies, law enforcement, and other Inspectors General, while participating in the review of legislation and regulations to provide input on potential impacts and compliance considerations.

• Must be a U.S.Citizen.
• This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
• The incumbent must be eligible to obtain and maintain, at minimum, a Top Secret security clearance.
• This position requires the incumbent to have regular and recurring access to Top Secret information in the performance of official duties where the loss or compromise of such information would cause serious damage to National Security.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position, which requires the incumbent to submit to random testing of urine and illegal drugs or substances.
• Incumbent is required to comply with the provisions of the Ethics in Government Act, Public Law 95- 521, and requires the submission of Financial Disclosure Statement, SF 278, upon assuming the position, annually, and upon termination of employment.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualification requirements for this position, you must demonstrate that you possess the Technical Qualifications and other qualifications, if applicable, listed below.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQ): You must show how you possess the TQs within your two-page resume. Failure to meet the two technical qualification requirements automatically disqualifies an applicant.
TQ1 - 1. Demonstrated success in the technical development and delivery of complex law enforcement, auditing, accounting, compliance, and oversight products and services.
TQ - 2. Broad technical knowledge and experience in Federal law and statutes, accounting and auditing standards, Inspector General professional practices, acquisition, procurement, personnel, internal controls, and ethics regulations.
SENIOR PROFESSIONAL (SP) QUALIFICATIONS: Work experience should demonstrate the ability to negotiate with senior leaders and subject matter technical experts of the federal, military services, private industry, and/or academia to arrive at acceptable technical and business solutions and agreement on highly complex and possibly controversial information technology issues; and Stature in the profession as indicated
by memberships and activity in professional associations, honors, awards, and other recognition and leadership in national and international professional communities. Experience reflects contributions and a very positive professional reputation as evidenced by successfully executing risk management, information assurance, and authorizing official activities and taskings, in a large cyber or IT organization.
Education
There is no substitution of education for the specialized experience requirement at this grade level.

• You may serve up to a one-year probationary period unless you previously completed the probationary period in the Senior Professional (SP).
