PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform Eddy Current (ET) inspections in accordance with customer and TIR NDE written procedures and applicable industry standards.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate Eddy Current testing equipment, including surface and tubing inspection systems as applicable.
  • Interpret and evaluate ET inspection data to identify defects, corrosion, cracking, wall loss, or other anomalies.
  • Document inspection results on appropriate NDE reports and review for accuracy prior to submission to TIR QA.
  • Organize, maintain, and communicate inspection findings to client representatives and internal teams.
  • Maintain close working relationships with field personnel, inspectors, and client representatives.
  • Provide training oversight and mentorship for Level I technicians as needed.
  • Ensure all inspection activities are performed safely and professionally in accordance with TIR safety policies and customer requirements.
  • Maintain continual communication with client representatives, site inspectors, and integrity personnel regarding inspection progress and findings.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by management.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Level II Certification in Eddy Current Testing (ET) required.
  • Additional NDT certifications are a plus but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of NDT inspection experience preferred, with pipeline experience considered beneficial.
  • Ability to set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot ET equipment in field environments.
  • Working knowledge of applicable NDE procedures, inspection techniques, and industry standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret and document inspection results.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in fast-paced field environments.
  • Ability to work confidently with computer software programs including Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to recognize and report safety hazards and maintain a strong safety-focused mindset.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Internal – Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment (45%).
External – Work is normally performed in a field environment with exposure to various weather conditions (55%).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is physically demanding and involves frequent standing, walking, and bending. It requires strong visual acuity and auditory perception, with or without corrective devices. Candidates must possess basic mathematical skills and be proficient in computer software. The position may require extended work hours, including weekends, to meet project deadlines and reporting requirements. Additionally, frequent travel to industrial and oilfield locations, often in remote areas, is necessary.
