Merchant Sales Enablement & Learning Manager

Role Purpose

Own the onboarding, training, learning curriculum, sales readiness, and continuous development of all Merchant Services salesemployeesacross Business Banking. Serve as the primary enablement leader responsible for scaling merchant knowledge, improving seller effectiveness, and creating a sustainable learning culture through structured onboarding, recurring education, and train-the-trainer programs.

Owns the payments conversation for:All ofKMS within Business Banking

Required Competencies

Merchant Services Expertise

  • Deep understanding of the merchant acquiring industry, payment acceptance ecosystem, and consultative merchant sales process.

  • Strong working knowledge of merchant products, POS solutions, implementation lifecycle, and industry terminology.

  • Ability to translate complex merchant concepts into practical, field-ready learning experiences.

Learning & Enablement Design

  • Experience designing instructor-led, virtual, digital, and self-paced learning programs.

  • Ability to create engaging learning journeys that drive behavior change,not simply knowledge transfer.

  • Skilled at curriculum architecture, certification development, and adult learning principles.

Sales Enablement

  • Understanding ofconsultative sales methodologies and sales readiness best practices.

  • Experience developing tools that improve sales conversations, discovery, objection handling, and client recommendations.

  • Ability to identify performance gaps and build learning solutions aligned to business outcomes.

Communication & Facilitation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

  • Ability to influence without direct authority across multiple stakeholder groups.

Content Development & Design

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint with demonstrated ability to create executive-quality presentations and visually engaging learning materials.

  • Strong visual communication skillsincludinglayout, information hierarchy, iconography, and learning-focused graphic design.

  • Ability to simplify complex concepts into clean, intuitive visuals and job aids.

Technology

  • Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams)

  • Learning Management Systems (Keys2Learn or comparable LMS)

  • Virtual learning platforms

  • AI productivity tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or equivalent) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years in Merchant Services, Payments, Sales Enablement, Learning & Development, or related field.

  • Experience supporting remote sales organizations.

  • Experience partnering with Product, Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Operations.

  • Experience managing enterprise learning programs from strategy through execution.

  • Knowledge of KeyBank Business Banking and Merchant Services preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
