Job description

Overview

The Infrastructure Engineerย on the Mission Control teamย plays a critical role in building,ย operating, and evolvingย the cloudย infrastructure that supports reliable, secure, and scalable product delivery. This roleย is responsible forย turning platform needs, application requirements, and operational constraints into well-automated infrastructure and developer workflows.ย

Working across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and production operations,ย thisย individual partners closely with Engineering, Product, Security, Data, and domain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure teams can ship quickly without compromising reliability, security, or compliance.ย

This role contributes to the development and evolution of core systems, spanning cloud environments, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerized workloads, observability, secrets management, networking, data infrastructure, and deployment automation within a regulated, high-stakes environment. Successย requiresย strongย systemsย thinking, pragmatic engineering judgment, and a bias toward automation and repeatability.ย

The Infrastructure Engineer is expected toย operateย in an AI-native engineering environment, using modern coding agents, automation tools, and rapid prototyping workflows to improve delivery speed and infrastructure quality. In parallel, this individual will help create the foundation for AI-enabled product capabilities by ensuring the underlying systems are dependable, observable, secure, and easy for engineers to use.ย

This is a fully remote position that offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $240,000 USD, plus an annual bonus. You'll also receive our excellent benefits package, which includes medical coverage starting on day one and a company-matched 401(k). Compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other job-related factors.

Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineeringย

  • Design, build, andย operateย cloud infrastructure across major platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure with a focus on reliability, scalability, security, and cost disciplineย
  • Create reusable infrastructure patterns that help product teams provision, deploy, andย operateย services consistentlyย
  • Own infrastructure changes from design and implementation through production rollout, monitoring, and iterationย

Infrastructure as Code & Automationย

  • Build andย maintainย infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform,ย Pulumi,ย Bicep,ย CloudFormation, or similar frameworksย
  • Automate repeatable operational workflows, environment provisioning, configuration management, and deployment tasksย
  • Improve infrastructure quality through clear modules, versioning, documentation, testing, and review practicesย

DevOps & Developer Experienceย

  • Partner with Engineering teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, build systems, and deployment safetyย
  • Reduce friction for developers by building self-service tools, templates, runbooks, and paved-path workflowsย
  • Balance speed and control so teams can move quickly whileย maintainingย strong production and change-management practicesย

Reliability, Observability & Production Operationsย

  • Operate production systems confidently, including deployments, incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident follow-upย
  • Implement and improve observability across logs, metrics, traces, alerts, dashboards, and service health indicatorsย
  • Contribute to architecture and operational decisions that improve uptime, performance, resilience, and maintainabilityย
  • Identifyย and address reliability risks before they become customer-impacting issuesย

Security, Compliance & Cost Disciplineย

  • Implement secure infrastructure patterns, access controls, secrets management, andย least-privilegeย practicesย
  • Support compliance-aware engineering practicesย appropriate forย a regulated fintech environmentย
  • Monitor infrastructureย utilizationย and cost,ย identifyingย opportunities to improve efficiency without reducing reliabilityย

Culture & Craftย

  • Contribute to a culture of ownership, curiosity, pragmatism, and engineering excellenceย
  • Raise the bar through thoughtful automation, clear abstractions, strong documentation, and sound operational judgmentย

Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of experience building,ย operating, and improving production infrastructure or DevOps platformsย
  • Strong experience with one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, includingย compute, networking, storage, IAM, and managed servicesย
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform or a comparable framework, and a strong understanding of reusable infrastructure modulesย
  • Experience with CI/CD systems, deployment automation, release workflows, and modern DevOps practicesย
  • Comfort working with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or similar platformsย
  • Ability to write scripts or production-quality automation in Python, Go,ย Rust,ย Bash, TypeScript, or a similar languageย
  • Experience operating production systems with observability tools, alerting, incident response, runbooks, and post-incident improvement practicesย
  • Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, encryption, and secure configuration practicesย
  • Comfort working with data-heavy, integration-heavy, and operationally critical systems in productionย
  • Good judgment in ambiguous environments where the path is not fully defined and the team needs to go from zero to oneย
  • Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical teammatesย

Preferred Experienceย

  • Experience building infrastructure, internal platforms, or developer tools for fast-moving product engineering teamsย
  • Experience in fintech, mortgage, lending, payments, insurance, or other regulated domainsย
  • Experience supporting AIย andย data infrastructure, including secure access to model platforms, data pipelines, vector databases, or GPU-enabled workloadsย
