Job description

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join an interdisciplinary research team focused on aging, gerontology, dementia, and digital health. Current research examines the use of digital health technologies and data-driven approaches to better understand and support the health and well-being of older adults, individuals living with cognitive impairment or dementia, and their families and caregivers.

The Postdoctoral Associate will receive individualized mentorship in gerontological and nursing research, digital health research, scientific writing, grant development, and career advancement. Opportunities to lead manuscripts, participate in interdisciplinary collaborations, and develop independent research projects are encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research projects focused on aging, gerontology, dementia, caregiving, and digital health
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of digital health and technology-based research
  • Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis across research projects
  • Assist with data management, interpretation of findings, and preparation of research reports
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize evidence related to aging, dementia, and digital health
  • Lead and contribute to manuscript preparation, scientific presentations, and dissemination activities
  • Contribute to grant proposals and development of new research projects
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of nurse scientists, health researchers, clinicians, and technology researchers
  • Participate in research meetings, mentoring activities, and other scholarly activities
  • Develop an independent program of research aligned with the Postdoctoral Associate's career goals

Qualifications

  • PhD in Nursing, Gerontology, Public Health, Health Sciences, Psychology, Health Informatics, or a related field
  • Research experience related to aging, older adults, dementia, cognitive health, caregiving, and/or digital health
  • Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills
  • Ability to contribute to manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary research environments
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple research activities
  • Interest in developing an independent research program related to aging, dementia, or digital health
