Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT integration contractor to assist in the technical planning and execution of a significant corporate acquisition. This is a cross-platform integration project requiring deep expertise in both Google Workspace/Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Office 365 ecosystems. Your role will be to help build plans to bridge two distinct technology stacks, develop a comprehensive migration strategy, and execute a seamless integration of collaboration tools and identity management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Planning
  • In coordination with IT staff, conduct comprehensive audit of both organizations' current technology environments, including infrastructure, applications, data locations, and compliance requirements
  • Document all Google Workspace configurations
  • Assess Office 365 tenant architecture and integration points in the acquiring organization
  • Identify all data sources, file repositories, email archives, and collaboration spaces that require integration or migration
  • Map user roles, permissions, and access patterns across both organizations

Migration Strategy Development
  • Develop a phased migration roadmap that addresses email consolidation, file storage integration, identity management, and compute infrastructure
  • Evaluate options for handling Google Workspace services: selective migration to Office 365, coexistence, or hybrid approach
  • Create detailed technical specifications for identity federation, SSO, and cross-platform authentication
  • Develop rollback plans and risk mitigation strategies

Integration Execution
  • Configure and test email routing, coexistence, and eventual consolidation between Exchange Online and Google Workspace
  • Design and implement file migration strategy between Google Drive and OneDrive/SharePoint
  • Establish directory synchronization and identity management across both platforms (Azure AD, Google Cloud Directory)
  • Configure collaborative scenarios where users from both platforms need to work together

Project Management & Communication
  • Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and escalation management
  • Create documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for the integrated environment
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and training for both IT teams on unfamiliar platforms

Knowledge Transfer & Training
  • Educate Fitch's IT team on Google Workspace and GCP architecture and administration
  • Educate acquired organization's IT team on Office 365 and Azure infrastructure

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure and cloud services experience
  • Deep expertise with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Groups, Meet, Calendar) including advanced administration and configuration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 ecosystem (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Azure AD)
  • Demonstrated experience with email migration projects (Gmail to Exchange Online or vice versa)

  • Understanding of hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies
  • Experience with enterprise acquisitions or large-scale technology integrations
  • Familiarity with compliance and data governance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2, etc.)
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing abilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent GCP certifications
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect)
  • Google Workspace Administrator certification
  • Experience with third-party integration and migration tools (ShareGate preferred)
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and/or Google Apps Script for automation
  • Track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
