Job Title: Network Systems Administrator Location-Type: Hybrid, Boulder, CO (onsite first week for onboarding, flexible onsite as needed) Start Date: ASAP Duration: Contract, 3 months with option to extend Compensation Range: $49/hr to $66/hr on W2 Benefits: Eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) Visa Sponsorship: Not eligible for visa sponsorship

Job Description: The client is seeking an experienced Network Systems Administrator to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT/OT network infrastructure for a new demonstration facility, serving as a key technical resource for hands on implementation, commissioning, and escalation support.

Job Summary

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and wireless networks across IT and OT environments
  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, with a focus on Palo Alto, Cisco, Siemens, and Meraki platforms
  • Develop and support OT network segmentation and DMZ design, including connectivity for SCADA, Ignition adjacent systems, and PLC controllers
  • Manage and administer server infrastructure including physical servers, virtual machines, and storage systems, supporting Proxmox VM migration and Scale Computing/Windows Server environments
  • Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues promptly, including extended hours or occasional after hours escalations
  • Review existing OT documentation and perform hands on implementation to support commissioning activities at the demonstration facility
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to plan and execute IT/OT projects, and document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7 years of progressive experience in network administration with demonstrated IT/OT networking expertise
  • Hands on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including configuration, troubleshooting, and OT segmentation/DMZ design
  • Proficiency with Cisco switching and Meraki networking and wireless solutions
  • Experience with Siemens networking switches in a manufacturing, plant, or operational technology environment
  • Solid understanding of OT network concepts including PLC controllers, plant networks, and OT vs traditional IT network architecture
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as Proxmox, VMware, or Hyper-V, including VM migration
  • Familiarity with Scale Computing or Windows Server infrastructure administration
  • Experience supporting SCADA systems or Ignition adjacent connectivity in an OT environment
  • Knowledge of secure remote access solutions in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Scripting or automation experience using Python, PowerShell, or similar tools
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CompTIA Network , Security , or equivalent
