Remote Informant Jobs in New York (NOW HIRING)

Remote Informant information

What are remote informants?

Remote informants are individuals who provide information or intelligence to organizations, such as law enforcement agencies, while working from a remote location rather than in-person. They may gather and relay information using digital communication tools, assisting with investigations or monitoring activities online. Their role is crucial for accessing information that may not be easily obtainable by traditional means, especially in cases involving cybercrime or geographically dispersed subjects. Remote informants must maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical guidelines while sharing information.

How does a Remote Informant typically collaborate with law enforcement teams while maintaining confidentiality?

A Remote Informant works closely with law enforcement agencies by providing valuable information from their unique position or network, often communicating digitally or by phone. Maintaining confidentiality is critical; informants usually use secure channels and may interact with designated officers rather than large teams to protect their identity. Collaboration involves regular updates, clear reporting protocols, and strict adherence to safety and privacy guidelines. Informants must be comfortable working independently and managing sensitive information discreetly.

Remote Informants typically provide information remotely to organizations, often with minimal credentials, focusing on confidentiality. Remote Investigators conduct investigations, often requiring specialized training and certifications, and may work in both remote and field environments. Both roles are common in legal, security, and compliance industries, but they serve different functions within investigative and informational workflows.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Informant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Informant, you need strong investigative skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of the relevant subject matter, often supported by a background in law enforcement or journalism. Familiarity with secure communication tools, digital research platforms, and sometimes certification in investigative methods are typically required. Discretion, integrity, and strong written and verbal communication are essential soft skills for building trust and accurately relaying information. These skills ensure effective information gathering and reporting while maintaining confidentiality and credibility in sensitive situations.

Brightline is expanding its pediatric clinical care model in Albany, NY. We are seeking a mission-driven Clinical Psychologist specializing in Evaluation & Testing to join our team full-time.

In this role, you will conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and diagnostic testing for youth up to age 18. You will serve as a regional specialist, providing the critical insights that shape treatment planning and improve family outcomes.

  • Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid: 3 days in-clinic, 2 days remote)

  • Compensation: $130,000 - $145,000 + Benefits

What Makes This Role Unique:

  • True Hybrid Schedule: Balance your week with 3 days in the Albany clinic and 2 days working remotely (supporting virtual evaluations and feedback sessions depending on clinical appropriateness and family preference).

  • Clear Turnaround Windows: We are committed to thorough, high-quality clinical documentation, maintaining a structured 30-business-day timeline from evaluation completion to report delivery.

  • Service Line Development: You will have a direct hand in contributing to the growth and refinement of Brightline’s evaluation and testing service line regionally.

  • Collaborative Environment: You won't operate in a silo. You will engage in regular peer consultation and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth diagnostic evaluations (clinical interviews, multi-informant data reviews, and differential diagnosis) to clarify presenting concerns for youth up to age 18.

  • Thoughtfully select, administer, and interpret test batteries for common youth concerns, including learning disorders, executive functioning needs, and autism spectrum disorders (including the ADOS-2).

  • Produce high-quality, family-friendly written reports that translate complex findings into practical recommendations.

  • Deliver clear family feedback sessions, providing actionable clinical guidance both in-person and virtually.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program.

  • Active, unrestricted license to practice at the doctoral level in the State of New York.

  • Extensive experience with pediatric psychological testing, test battery selection, and ASD-focused clinical interviews (ADOS-2 training required).

  • Comfort providing services across both in-person and remote modalities, including supporting evaluations remotely for other clinics as needed.

  • Experience with or training in digital administration of psychological tests where available.

  • Bilingual candidates (particularly Spanish-speaking) are strongly preferred.

Perks & Total Rewards:

  • Comprehensive Care: Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, FSA, and 401k.

  • Generous Time Off: 12 Company Holidays + Floating Holidays, a dedicated Holiday Shutdown, and Parental Leave.

  • Stipends & Reimbursements: Annual Health & Wellness stipend, Home Office reimbursement, and Professional Development reimbursement.

At Brightline we have built a total rewards philosophy that includes fair, equitable, competitive, geo-based compensation that is performance and potential based. Our strategy is based on robust market research, including external advisory specializing in national compensation, and thoughtful input from every level of our organization. Depending on the position, total compensation packages are dynamically structured and may include a combination of cash salary, equity, benefits, wellbeing, and professional opportunity. Compensation for this role varies based on geographic location and market data. Final compensation will be determined by factors including location, skills, experience, and internal equity. In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for applicants is $130,000 - $145,000.

  • building a future where all families can access inclusive, high-quality care
