Position Overview

Summerfield Mental and Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, LMFT, LCSW) to join our remote team. Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from your own space while being a key member of the Summerfield team. Although you will operate independently, you will also engage in collaborative team meetings and case consultations to ensure cohesive care delivery. Our outpatient servicing model prioritizes accessibility, and we use modern virtual tools to maintain seamless communication with clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, culturally sensitive, and strength-based assessments for new patients and their families to understand their unique needs.
• Provide individualized therapy sessions, both for individuals and families, based on assessed needs while fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.
• Manage all necessary documentation, including billing, treatment plans, and insurance authorizations, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and timely submissions.
• Develop crisis and safety plans tailored to individual patient risks, along with relapse prevention and wellness strategies to support long-term stability.
• Create comprehensive discharge plans to facilitate smooth transitions from therapy to independence in managing mental health.
• Strictly adhere to all relevant laws, regulatory requirements, and agency policies, contributing to the integrity of our organization.
• Maintain and enhance professional skills through ongoing training and engagement in continuing education opportunities.
• Participate actively in case consultations and agency meetings to share insights and collaborate on best practices.
• Complete all necessary licensure and mandatory training requirements to ensure the highest level of care and compliance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our center serves a diverse client population, including individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges and those seeking support for chronic emotional issues. Clients may range from adolescents to adults, encompassing various backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses. As a counselor, you will play a pivotal role in addressing their diverse needs, providing tailored support that respects each individual's unique context.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field resulting in licensure.
• Valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in New York (LMHC, LMFT, LCSW) is required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in outpatient settings with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with integrated care practices and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Proficiency in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
