Maximo Systems Administrator

Renewable Energy | Global Operations | Toronto, ON
Hybrid: 4 days in office / 1 day remote

Our client is a Canadian-owned energy company with a global presence and operations across eight countries. As the organization continues to grow and evolve its technology infrastructure, they are seeking a Maximo Systems Administrator to take ownership of its IBM Maximo platform.

The Opportunity

The Maximo Systems Administrator will serve as the primary technical owner and subject matter expert for IBM Maximo, responsible for the administration, optimization, support, and continuous improvement of the platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maximo professional who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, operations, maintenance, engineering, and business systems and who wants to have a direct impact on a global renewable energy organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary IBM Maximo administrator and subject matter expert across North American and European operations.
  • Configure and maintain Maximo applications, security, workflows, escalations, notifications, automation scripts, and system settings.
  • Support Maximo upgrades, patches, enhancements, integrations, and system implementations.
  • Partner with business and operational stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and coordinate resolution with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Manage user access, security groups, roles, permissions, and compliance-related controls.
  • Support integrations between Maximo and ERP, GIS, SCADA, procurement, and other enterprise systems.
  • Maintain system documentation, technical standards, procedures, and support processes.
  • Provide training and technical support to users across operations, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering.
  • Champion data quality, data integrity, and governance standards across the Maximo environment.
  • Support reporting, KPI development, dashboards, and analytics requirements.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to establish standardized processes while accommodating local operational requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, system optimization, and enhanced user experience.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of hands-on IBM Maximo administration experience.
  • Strong experience with Maximo security groups, workflows, escalations, automation scripts, configuration, and integrations.
  • Working knowledge of SQL databases and reporting tools.
  • Experience with APIs, middleware, enterprise integrations, and cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting organizations within renewable energy, utilities, power generation, infrastructure, or asset-intensive industries is highly valued.
  • Experience supporting or participating in Maximo implementations, upgrades, transformation initiatives, or technology projects.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed or international teams, ideally across North America and Europe.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to balance technical priorities with business needs.
Compensation for this role is $100,000k - $115,000k
