First Hand Psychotherapy Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our innovative remote practice. You will work closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals dedicated to holistic and evidence-based trauma-informed care. Regular virtual meetings and consultations ensure continuous collaboration and integration of services for optimal patient outcomes.

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' histories and determine appropriate treatment interventions.
• Design, implement, and regularly refine individualized treatment plans that focus on facilitating recovery and building resilience within the client.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), during individual and group therapy sessions.
• Engage in crisis intervention and support clients facing trauma-related emergencies, effectively managing high-stress situations with calm professionalism.
• Provide education to clients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping mechanisms, available resources, and recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to deliver integrated care, ensuring a comprehensive approach to client treatment.
• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities that emphasize trauma-informed approaches.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards using relevant electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Stay informed on the latest research, interventions, and best practices in trauma therapy and mental health counseling.

Your role will primarily involve working with adult clients who have experienced varying degrees of trauma and may struggle with PTSD, complex trauma responses, and dissociative disorders. As a crucial member of a trauma-focused team, you will be responsible for helping clients navigate their recovery journeys and implement effective coping strategies that promote healing and resilience.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
• Two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and proven experience with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, illustrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and provide effective crisis intervention.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and necessary computer applications.
• Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.

While a minimum of two years is required, candidates with additional experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies, training in specific treatment methodologies, or expertise in group therapy facilitation will be favorably considered.
