Position Overview

First Hand Psychotherapy Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team. In this full-time role, you will provide specialized therapeutic care to individuals who have experienced trauma, helping them to navigate their recovery journey. This position is entirely remote, allowing you to connect with and support patients across Boston, Massachusetts, from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a variety of critical tasks aimed at providing trauma-informed care, including:

  • Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients’ mental health needs, trauma history, and readiness for treatment.
  • Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans that focus on healing, resilience building, and personal growth.
  • Delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during both individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Facilitating supportive group therapy sessions that encourage open dialogue among patients as they process their trauma and develop effective coping strategies.
  • Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Providing crisis intervention to patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies, ensuring immediate support and care.
  • Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available mental health resources.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely records of patient progress and treatment interventions in compliance with legal and ethical standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Staying informed on the latest research and developments in trauma therapy to enhance client treatment and outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will serve at First Hand Psychotherapy Center primarily consist of individuals recovering from trauma. Our clientele includes adults from diverse backgrounds who have experienced significant life events, leading to various mental health challenges. You will play a pivotal role in helping them rebuild their lives, encouraging them on their paths toward recovery and mental wellness.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following necessary qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on compassionate, non-judgmental patient interactions.
  • Ability to remain calm and effectively handle crisis situations in a composed manner.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.
Preferred Experience

At least two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting is preferred, with a strong emphasis on trauma-focused therapy techniques. Candidates should demonstrate a firm understanding of trauma-related disorders and approaches to resilience-building.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time Mental Health Therapist position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually. In addition to financial compensation, we provide:
