Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst Subject Matter Expert (SME) Contractor Support Lead to provide advanced analytical expertise in direct support of government programs and initiatives. The Data Analyst SME Contractor Support Lead will serve as the primary contractor technical authority for all data analysis activities, delivering actionable insights, developing analytical frameworks, and advising government stakeholders on data strategy, methodology, and best practices. This role requires deep expertise in data analysis, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data findings into clear, meaningful information for government customers at all levels. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of hands-on analytical proficiency, strategic thinking, and demonstrated experience operating in a government contracting environment to drive informed decision-making in support of government program objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Government Stakeholder Interface & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary contractor point of contact for all data analysis activities, reporting directly to government stakeholders including program managers, contracting officers, and senior leadership
  • Provide regular status updates, analytical findings, and program reporting to government customers in accordance with contract requirements and government-directed reporting schedules
  • Prepare and deliver formal briefings, technical reports, white papers, and data products to government stakeholders at all levels
  • Respond to government requests for information, data calls, and ad hoc analytical tasking in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain transparent and professional communication with government counterparts while operating within appropriate contractor roles and boundaries
  • Support government-led program reviews, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), milestone decision reviews, and data governance forums
  • Assist government stakeholders in understanding analytical findings, data limitations, and recommendations to support informed decision-making

Subject Matter Expertise & Technical Advisory

  • Serve as the recognized contractor technical authority and primary resource for all data analysis-related activities in support of the government program
  • Provide expert guidance to government stakeholders on data analysis methodologies, statistical techniques, and analytical best practices
  • Advise government program leadership and team members on data strategy, data governance, and the appropriate use of analytical tools and techniques
  • Evaluate and recommend analytical approaches, tools, and technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of government data analysis efforts

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in data analysis, data science, or a related analytical discipline, with at least 3–5 years in a contractor support role interfacing directly with government customers
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in advanced statistical analysis, data modeling, and quantitative methods
  • Proficiency in data analysis programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or equivalent
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, or equivalent
  • Strong experience with relational and non-relational database management systems
  • Proven ability to manage and analyze large, complex, and multi-source datasets in a government program environment
