What is a remote IDMS?

Remote IDMS jobs involve managing, developing, and supporting Integrated Database Management Systems (IDMS) from a location outside of a traditional office. These roles typically require expertise in legacy database systems, especially CA-IDMS, and may include tasks such as database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and supporting application development teams. Working remotely, IDMS professionals use secure connections and collaboration tools to maintain and enhance database environments for organizations that rely on this technology for their mainframe systems.

What is the difference between Remote Idms vs Remote Data Analysts?

AspectRemote IdmsRemote Data Analysts
Required CredentialsTypically requires certifications in identity management, cybersecurity, or IT securityUsually requires degrees in data science, statistics, or related fields; certifications like SAS or Tableau are common
Work EnvironmentPrimarily focused on identity and access management systems, often within IT or cybersecurity teamsFocuses on analyzing data sets, creating reports, and deriving insights, often within data or analytics teams
Employer & Industry UsageUsed in cybersecurity, IT services, and technology companies managing user identitiesCommon in finance, marketing, healthcare, and tech industries for data-driven decision making

Remote Idms and Remote Data Analysts share some technical skills but differ mainly in their focus areas. Remote Idms specialize in managing digital identities and security protocols, while Remote Data Analysts focus on interpreting data to support business decisions. Both roles are remote-friendly and in demand across various industries.

How do remote IDMS professionals typically collaborate with on-site teams to manage system updates and troubleshooting?

Remote IDMS (Integrated Database Management System) professionals often work closely with on-site IT and database teams through virtual meetings, ticketing systems, and remote access tools. Effective communication and clear documentation are key, as remote professionals may need to guide on-site staff through complex procedures or coordinate during critical system updates. It's important to establish regular check-ins and use collaborative platforms to ensure everyone stays aligned on project goals and troubleshooting steps. This collaborative approach helps maintain database integrity and minimizes downtime, even when working from different locations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote IDMS specialist?

To thrive as a Remote IDMS Specialist, you need expertise in identity and access management concepts, security protocols, and a relevant degree in computer science or information security. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, SailPoint, or Okta, as well as certifications such as CISSP or CompTIA Security+, is often required. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you address security challenges and collaborate with remote teams. These competencies ensure secure user access, compliance with regulations, and efficient support of organizational IT security needs.

Job description

For more than 20 years, IC Enable has delivered world-class design IP, semiconductor products, engineering services, and platform solutions to customers ranging from innovative startups to Fortune 50 companies. Our expertise spans high-reliability mixed-signal and digital IC development, while our platform solutions support leading IDMs, foundries, and IP providers.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is driving innovation across the Semiconductor, Medical, and Defense industries. We specialize in advanced technology development, full-custom ASIC/SoC design, and electronics development for some of the industry's most challenging fabrication processes and product applications.
We are seeking an experienced RTL Design / AMS Verification Engineer to support digital and mixed-signal IC development from architecture through implementation and verification. The ideal candidate will bring strong Verilog RTL design experience, hands-on digital and AMS verification skills, and familiarity with synthesis, APR support, and Cadence and/or Synopsys design flows across advanced semiconductor applications.
Application areas may include neurostimulation, ultrasound, read-out integrated circuits (ROICs), wireless transceivers, energy harvesting, sensor interfaces, and other advanced mixed-signal and digital systems.
Location: Remote
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, integrate, and verify Verilog RTL for digital and mixed-signal IC subsystems using industry-standard design and verification methodologies
  • Plan and execute functional, block-level, subsystem-level, and AMS verification activities to confirm that designs meet functionality, performance, and integration objectives
  • Set up, run, debug, and document AMS simulations using Cadence tools, including mixed-signal testbenches and relevant verification environments
  • Perform logic synthesis, review timing and implementation results, and support APR handoff, constraint development, and implementation closure
  • Collaborate on IP integration and subsystem development
  • Create and present design reviews, technical documentation, and test/characterization plans
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support successful silicon development and product delivery
  • Apply industry best practices throughout the IC development lifecycle
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital, mixed-signal, or integrated circuit design and verification
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • RTL design
    • Design verification and AMS verification
    • Logic synthesis
    • Automatic place-and-route (APR)
  • Core tools and skills include Verilog, SystemVerilog, RTL design, AMS verification, Cadence, Synopsys, logic synthesis, APR, mixed-signal simulation, IP integration, and ASIC/SoC development
  • Proven track record developing successful integrated circuit designs
  • Thorough understanding of silicon development methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex technical concepts effectively
  • Must be eligible to work on ITAR-controlled projects, which may require U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IP integration
  • Programming and automation skills in one or more of the following:
    • Python
    • Perl
    • Tcl
    • SKILL
  • Understanding of both digital and analog/mixed-signal design methodologies
  • Experience with digital front-end design and/or RF systems
