Description

 SAIC is seeking a highly experienced ICT (Information, Communications, Technology) Infrastructure Engineer to support the Army Reserve enterprise network across more than 700 locations, including all Readiness Division (RD) Command contingents. The selected candidate will serve as a key contributor, providing ICT infrastructure subject matter expertise for Military Construction (MILCON) and Restoration & Modernization (R&M) projects.

 This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including conducting quality assurance inspections on active construction projects, reviewing Requests for Information (RFIs), and evaluating construction submittals such as shop drawings, product data, and test reports. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, contractors, and Army Reserve stakeholders.

This is a remote position with up to 50% travel required throughout the U.S.

  • The Infrastructure Design Engineer provides subject matter expertise to the customer for telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Support for Military Construction (MILCON) Projects, Maintenance and Repair Army Reserve (MRAR) projects, and USARC G-6 funded infrastructure repair projects.
  • Provide review and recommendations for requests for information (RFI).
  • Provide review of product data, shop drawing, and test reports submittals.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections.
  • Provide subject matter expertise input on ICT infrastructure as requested by the customer.
  • All work performed will be consistent with customer service level requirements and approved requirements documents (i.e. Army Reserve Network Enterprise Center Infrastructure Technical Criteria (ARNEC), Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) Manuals, NFPA Codes, and ANSI/TIA Standards.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; years of experience in lieu of degree to be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in telecommunications infrastructure is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance before start.
  • Must hold an Active certification in one of the following BICSI credentialing programs:
    • Installer 1
    • Installer 2 (Copper or Fiber)
    • Technician
  • Must have a Minimum of 5 years of experience in the following:
    • ICT Infrastructure Quality Control/Quality Assurance inspections
    • Review of review of product data, shop drawing, and test reports submittals
  • Must be familiar and comfortable working with the following software:
    • Outlook
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Visio
  • Must have working knowledge of the following standards/codes:
    • ANSI/TIA-568
    • ANSI/TIA-569-C
    • ANSI/TIA-606
    • ANSI/TIA-607-B
    • NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code)
    • UFC 3-580-01
    • Army Reserve Network Enterprise Center Infrastructure Technical Criteria

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Army Reserve telecommunications infrastructure is strongly preferred.
  • An active Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) certification is strongly preferred but not required.
