About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven National Residential Sales Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Residential HVAC industry and a proven track record in sales/business development and product training/promotion. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent technical knowledge and the ability to develop/build strong relationships with customers (distributors & dealers/contractors).

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Business Development:
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities. Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the specific needs. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
    • Success in building an internal sales team as the organization grows.
    • Manage and grow existing accounts (e.g., Distribution channel partners) by providing exceptional customer service and technical support.
    • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to prospective customers (distributors & dealers/contractors). Drive demo trailers to various locations within the assigned territory to showcase product functionality. Organize and conduct hands-on demonstrations for distributors, branch/store personnel, dealers/contractors to promote product adoption and sales.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Utilize in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems to recommend solutions that meet customer needs.
    • Collaborate with sales representatives to provide comprehensive technical support and training.
    • Enhance customer service by supporting sales reps and call centers, and actively participating in trade shows and marketing events.
    • Conduct site surveys and assessments to understand market/customer requirements and product/system performance
  • Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sales reps, dealers/contractors, distributors, and end-users.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing any technical or sales-related inquiries.
  • Collaboration, Market Analysis & Sales Reporting:
    • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and customer engagement.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
    • Provide feedback to the product development team based on customer insights and market demands.
    • Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and market analysis.
    • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Residential HVAC industry, building Teams, and working with Distributors and their Reps.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new businesses.
  • Education:
    • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical or HVAC Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and solutions.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and grow the internal sales team.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel: Frequent travel is required, but one will work out of a home office when not traveling
  • Compensation: $180,000 - $250,000 base, depending on experience, plus bonus
