What are remote hospitality jobs?

Remote hospitality jobs focus on the tourism industry. In this role, you may provide services for a client as they travel, such as booking flights and hotels, suggesting restaurants, or arranging for special services like chaperones for otherwise unaccompanied minors. Many remote hospitality professionals provide a wide variety of services to guests, arranging them through a virtual booking system. However, remote hospitality jobs may also require you to use telephones, faxes, or other technologies to contact and coordinate with others. Your company may allow you to work from home, but others may require you to work from a call center or similar environment. In this context, the word "remote" refers to supporting clients that you aren't meeting in-person.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote hospitality professional?

To thrive as a Remote Hospitality professional, you need strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and typically experience in the hospitality or service industry. Excellent problem-solving abilities, cultural sensitivity, and clear virtual communication help you stand out in supporting guests remotely. These competencies ensure seamless guest experiences and maintain high service standards without face-to-face interaction.

Job description

Tax

Position: Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director

Location: Greensboro, Charlotte or Raleigh + Very Light Hybrid or Remote

Compensation: $170-210K + Bonus

Requirements: 7-15+ years of public accounting + CPA

Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director

FIRM BACKGROUND:

We're a modern public accounting and advisory firm built on a simple belief: great client service starts with a great place to work.

We know what causes talented professionals to leave public accounting-unpredictable hours, burnout during busy season, limited time off, outdated technology, poor management, and feeling like there's nowhere meaningful to go next.

We built our firm differently.

Here, you can continue doing sophisticated, challenging client work while having the flexibility, autonomy, resources, and support to build a career that works for you. We value high performance, but we don't believe that working the most hours makes someone the best professional. We believe in working smarter, supporting one another, and creating sustainable careers.

Whether you're ready to take the next step into a leadership role or looking for a firm where you can build a long-term career, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact, develop your expertise, mentor others, and play an important role in the continued growth of the firm.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • A sustainable approach to busy season. We work hard when the work requires it, but we don't believe burnout should be the price of success. Outside of peak periods, you'll enjoy reduced hours and greater flexibility.
  • Real work-life balance. Flexibility isn't something we offer only when business is slow. We understand that our professionals have families, interests, commitments, and lives outside of work.
  • Generous PTO that you can actually use. Time away from work is important, and we encourage our team to take meaningful time off to recharge.
  • A healthy, collaborative culture. No toxic micromanagement, unnecessary bureaucracy, or "face time" for the sake of face time. We trust experienced professionals to manage their work and their relationships with clients.
  • Autonomy and respect. As a Senior Tax Manager, you'll have the opportunity to lead, make decisions, and influence the direction of client engagements and the firm.
  • A genuine path for growth. You'll have opportunities to expand your leadership responsibilities, develop client relationships, mentor others, and grow with the firm rather than waiting years for the next available seat.
  • Competitive compensation and strong benefits. We believe talented professionals should be rewarded for the value they bring.
  • Modern technology and resources. Access the latest cloud-based accounting, tax, and workflow technology so you can spend more time solving problems and less time fighting outdated systems.
  • Interesting, diverse client work. Work directly with business owners, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, and growing companies across multiple industries.
  • A firm where your contributions are visible. We're large enough to provide meaningful resources and opportunities, but small enough that your work, ideas, and leadership actually matter.
  • A team that invests in you. We support continuing education, professional development, and the tools you need to keep growing as a tax professional and leader.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients while playing an important leadership role within the firm. You'll have the opportunity to combine technical tax expertise, client relationship management, business development, and team leadership.

  • Lead and review individual, business, partnership, S corporation, trust, and other complex tax engagements.
  • Serve as a trusted year-round advisor to business owners, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, and other key clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding both the technical and business aspects of their needs.
  • Research complex tax matters and develop practical, thoughtful solutions.
  • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities that help clients achieve their personal and business goals.
  • Oversee engagement workflow, deadlines, and deliverables while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop senior and junior team members.
  • Provide technical guidance and serve as a resource for the broader tax team.
  • Collaborate with accounting and advisory professionals to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, leverage technology, and make the client and employee experience better.
  • Participate in firm initiatives and help shape the continued growth and development of the tax practice.
  • Develop new and existing client relationships and contribute to the growth of the firm in a way that aligns with your strengths and interests.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced tax professional who is ready to have a meaningful leadership role without stepping into the traditional public accounting culture of endless hours and constant micromanagement.

You should bring:

  • CPA license required or strongly preferred.
  • 7-15+ years of public accounting tax experience, with additional experience welcomed for candidates seeking a broader leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge across individual and business taxation.
  • Experience managing complex tax engagements from planning through completion.
  • Experience working directly with business owners, entrepreneurs, and/or high-net-worth individuals is a plus.
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring, developing, and leading tax professionals.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of client relationships and engagements.
  • A collaborative leadership style and the ability to develop people without micromanaging.
  • A desire to continue learning, growing, and contributing to the development of a modern tax practice.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping shape the future of the firm.

ABOUT US

Our firm was built by bringing together respected accounting practices that spent decades earning the trust of businesses, entrepreneurs, and families. Today, we combine that legacy of personal service with expanded resources, specialized expertise, and modern technology to deliver a better experience-for both our clients and our employees.

We believe you shouldn't have to choose between career growth and having a life outside of work.

You'll enjoy the close-knit culture and personal relationships of a local firm while benefiting from the resources, technology, technical expertise, and career opportunities typically associated with much larger organizations.

Most importantly, we're building a firm where experienced professionals can stay, grow, and have a voice. Your career shouldn't depend on surviving another 80-hour busy season, navigating layers of unnecessary management, or waiting for someone above you to retire before you can advance.

If you're an experienced tax professional looking for challenging work, meaningful client relationships, strong compensation and benefits, flexibility, supportive leadership, and a genuine opportunity to grow, we'd love to meet you.
