Position Summary

The Power Studies Engineer performs power system analysis and modeling to support bulk transmission, distributed generation, renewable energy, energy storage, and power quality studies. The role analyzes technical data, documents study results, and applies power system simulation tools to evaluate grid integration, reliability, planning, and control system performance.

Job Function

  • Perform data analysis related to bulk transmission, distributed generation, and power quality studies.
  • Write engineering reports that document study results.
  • Support engineering studies for solar, wind, energy storage plants, and utility power systems.
  • Support work involving transmission planning, renewable grid integration studies, power system economics, and reliability assessments.
  • Use power system simulation tools to perform technical studies and modeling.
  • Support renewable energy control system design and related technical evaluations.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree required.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Master of Technology (MTech) or Ph.D. preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong engineering background in power system analysis and modeling.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: transmission planning, renewable grid integration studies, power system economics, or reliability assessment.
  • Experience with one or more power system simulation tools, such as PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS/E, PSLF, ASPEN, ETRAN, or Simulink for Power Systems.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy control system design.
