As a remote mental health counselor with West Hills Behavioral Health Center, you will work from the comfort of your home, interacting with clients through secure telehealth platforms. • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial consultations, assessing clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
• Document patient cases meticulously from the initial intake process, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records throughout treatment.
• Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans tailored to the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing various therapeutic modalities and techniques based on client needs.
• Regularly monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes and reinforcing positive behaviors.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to develop holistic intervention plans.
• Manage referrals and conduct follow-ups with clients requiring additional support or hospitalization, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
• Provide educational resources to clients and their families to empower them in managing mental health challenges.
• Identify and proactively address any behaviors that could hinder recovery, reinforcing supportive strategies and interventions.

Your primary focus will be on a diverse clientele, including adults and youth presenting with a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. You will be responsible for adapting your therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client, fostering a safe and supportive space for healing and personal growth.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Proven experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a strong foundation in clinical practices.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to maintain detailed client records and documentation.
• Experience working with clients facing physical health conditions, emotional challenges, and addiction disorders.
• Familiarity with best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Solid understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications and collaboration with medical specialists.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with clients and colleagues.
