This position is fully remote, allowing you to provide care to clients from the comfort of your home while still being an integral part of our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough preliminary assessments, including initial interviews and diagnosis, documenting the case from the first consultation through to the completion of treatment.
  • Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to identify areas needing intervention.
  • Develop personalized intervention and recovery plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities suited to our diverse client population.
  • Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to create comprehensive intervention plans.
  • Provide support and follow-up for clients transitioning from inpatient care and communicate with other health professionals involved in their treatment.
  • Proactively identify and intervene in behaviors that may hinder recovery and offer guidance to family members and primary caregivers in managing related challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a mental health counselor at West Hills Behavioral Health Center, you will work with a diverse clientele reflecting various ages, backgrounds, and mental health conditions. Our clients may present with issues ranging from anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction to relational difficulties and emotional regulation challenges. Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Active and valid licensure as either an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
  • A successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrable experience in the field as a mental health counselor, with a strong foundation in therapeutic practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to manage case documentation effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge and sensitivity towards underlying physical and emotional health conditions including addiction and recovery processes.
Preferred Experience
  • Membership or familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
