• Perform thorough assessments of clients, utilizing standardized tools and methodologies to evaluate their mental health and substance use issues, thereby identifying co-occurring disorders accurately.
• Collaborate with clients and their families to create personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices tailored to their specific needs, emphasizing integrated dual diagnosis treatment.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to equip clients with essential coping mechanisms, relapse prevention strategies, and techniques for emotional regulation.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, ensuring a seamless experience for clients navigating their recovery journey.
• Engage in continuous monitoring of clients’ substance use, applying motivational interviewing techniques to inspire and support clients in making positive lifestyle changes.
• Educate clients and their families on the interrelation of mental health and substance use disorders, underscoring the significance of treatment compliance and the recovery process.
• Maintain precise and timely documentation regarding client progress, interventions, and referrals, adhering to regulatory and ethical standards.
• Contribute to case conferences and staff meetings to share insights, enhance treatment approaches, and stay informed on best practices within the field.

You will primarily work with individuals grappling with co-occurring disorders, a demographic that presents unique challenges requiring specialized approaches. Our clients often include adults experiencing a combination of mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety alongside substance use disorders, necessitating integrated treatment that considers the complexities of their conditions.

• Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT within the state of California is required.
• Proficient in evidence-based therapeutic modalities suited for co-occurring disorders, with demonstrated experience in Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
• A solid understanding of the intricate relationship between mental health and substance use disorders is essential.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are key to fostering collaboration within the interdisciplinary team and building rapport with clients.

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience working with clients facing mental health and substance use challenges.
• Experience in community health settings or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will be an advantage.
