Job description

Job Description

Wholesale Sales Analyst I

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Wholesale Sales Analyst I is an analytical, detail-oriented, data driven partner to the Head of Integrated Business Planning/Director of Sales Operations and the Sales Management Team. We are looking for someone genuinely curious about the story behind the numbers, one who questions data, digs for the root cause, and proactively surfaces trends, risks, and opportunities. This role manages and analyzes sales data, turning it into clear, actionable reporting, and exercises sound analytical judgment to identify trends and flag risks and opportunities in sales, inventory, and customer/retailer data. Success is measured by the accuracy and reliability of the reporting produced, the quality of judgment behind the insights surfaced, and the initiative shown in raising issues and sharing ideas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Support the Head of Integrated Business Planning/Director of Sales Operations with ongoing data preparation and analysis, creating annual budgets/goals, and development and progression of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process; gather, research and reconcile inputs across Sales, Marketing, Product, surface opportunities and prepare materials for the cycle review.
  • Build and maintain Excel and Power BI reports, scorecards, and dashboards that track wholesale sales performance, customer orders, inventory availability, sales programs, etc.
  • Apply advanced Excel skills and AI tools to accelerate and automate analysis and reporting, improve data quality, and validate output while protecting confidential data.
  • Proactively analyze sales, inventory, and customer/retailer data to identify trends and flag risks or opportunities for sales and/or customer service to act upon.
  • Support Sales Team with reporting tools, dashboards, sell-in and sell-through tracking, and forecast accuracy efforts.
  • Track and maintain customer/retailer sell-through data (account/door performance, turns, seasonality, promo lift) to support sales targets and inventory decisions.
  • Partner with cross-channel Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance, Demand Planning, and Customer Service to gather data, align on metrics, and support a consistent "one source of truth."
  • Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and training materials so reporting tools are easy to use and consistently applied.
  • Monitor market and competitor information and proactively incorporate relevant signals into analyses and reporting.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty successfully. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in analytics, sales operations, or a related area; relevant coursework, projects, or internship experience will be considered in place of full-time experience.
  • Proficient in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, Power Query), demonstrated through coursework, projects, or prior work/internship experience, and Power BI (data modeling, report design), gained through coursework, certifications, or hands-on project experience.
  • Genuinely curious and inquisitive - asks "why" by default, forms hypotheses, and validates conclusions with data rather than accepting numbers at face value.
  • Proactive self-starter who identifies problems, risks, and opportunities without being prompted, and follows through independently.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to improve productivity in analytics workflows, with good judgment around data privacy and accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of sales performance metrics (sell-in/sell-through, margin, forecast accuracy) and how to communicate insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and data integrity; comfortable working with large datasets.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role is fully remote. Up to 10% travel may be required.

REPORTING:

This position reports directly to Director of Sales Operations.
