Job Description

Provide comprehensive physician care and clinical leadership within an established remote healthcare environment supporting personnel on Wake Island. This role combines emergency response, outpatient care, medical leadership, and healthcare coordination within a professionally managed clinical environment focused on patient safety and continuity of care.
Work Location: Wake Island
Working alongside on-site medical personnel, the Physician provides acute and routine care, supports emergency response operations, oversees clinic workflows, and coordinates medical evacuations when needed. This role is ideal for physicians seeking clinical autonomy, broad scope, and structured remote healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide acute, urgent, and routine medical care for personnel within the on-site clinic and emergency response setting
  • Deliver clinical oversight and leadership for on-site medical staff, including supervision and review of Advanced EMT or Paramedic clinical support services
  • Support clinical governance, policy adherence, and healthcare quality initiatives
  • Coordinate medical evacuations, continuity of care planning, and emergency stabilization prior to transport
  • Maintain compliant medical documentation, medication management, and healthcare quality standards
  • Support clinic readiness, equipment oversight, and medical supply coordination
  • Participate in emergency response coverage with the ability to respond to urgent medical situations within required response timelines
Qualifications

Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school or equivalent international institution
  • Completion of residency training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
  • Minimum 5 years of post-residency clinical practice experience in the United States
  • Current unrestricted U.S. physician license and DEA registration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Ability to respond to on-site emergencies within 30 minutes while on assignment
  • U.S. citizenship and valid passport required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI/Tier 1 background investigation if working more than 180 days within a fiscal year

Preferred

  • Previous experience in remote, military, or austere healthcare environments
  • Experience coordinating medical evacuations and remote healthcare logistics
  • ATLS certification and experience with telemedicine or teleradiology services
