Key Responsibilities

• Conduct personalized assessments and provide tailored counseling services to individuals facing emotional and behavioral challenges, ensuring an empathetic approach in every interaction.
• Facilitate crisis intervention sessions when necessary, employing evidence-based techniques to help patients navigate acute mental health distress.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to communicate patient progress, address concerns, and adjust treatment plans based on evolving needs.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate clinical records and progress notes that comply with department policies, ensuring clarity and accountability in patient care.
• Engage with community resource groups and represent Empower Well at meetings, actively participating in discussions that influence patient care and community support systems.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work predominantly with adults experiencing a spectrum of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your expertise will be critical in assisting our clients through their recovery journeys, offering them strategies to improve their quality of life and cope with everyday challenges.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is a prerequisite for this position.
• Possession of one of the following independent licenses is required: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating a commitment to clinical excellence.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in hospice settings or with palliative care populations is highly valued, as it equips you with unique insights into the emotional needs of individuals facing significant health challenges. Additionally, familiarity with telehealth platforms will be beneficial given the remote nature of the role.
