Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and assess clients using leading assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Develop individual treatment plans that are aligned with evidence-based practices and specific client needs.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy sessionsโ€”both individually and in groupsโ€”using interactive and therapeutic techniques.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation of all client interactions, progress notes, and case management records within our electronic health record system.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care physicians to ensure seamless continuity of care for clients.
  • Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly, utilizing feedback from clients and other professionals.
  • Proactively identify and respond to challenges that may hinder clients' recovery, facilitating preventative measures as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to family members and caregivers of clients, sharing strategies for managing mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will primarily engage with a diverse population of clients experiencing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. The scope of care includes supporting individuals, couples, families, and groups from all walks of life, focusing on a holistic approach that considers each client's cultural context and personal experiences.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Active licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
  • Successful completion and a passing score in the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective engagement with clients and team members.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working as a mental health counselor with proficiency in therapeutic modalities.
  • Experience managing complex cases involving co-occurring physical and mental health issues, as well as substance use disorders.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for accurate documentation and data management.
  • Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
Compensation and Benefits
