• Conduct thorough intake diagnostic assessments, including clinical summary and treatment planning to develop tailored therapeutic approaches.
• Provide ongoing case management, including advocacy and resource linkage, to guide clients through their recovery journeys.
• Deliver culturally sensitive care to individuals from various backgrounds, ensuring that services are equitable and respectful.
• Collaborate with family members and caregivers to monitor behavioral changes and treatment responses, adapting strategies to meet evolving needs.
• Engage in crisis intervention and management strategies to support clients in acute distress, ensuring their safety and stabilization.
• Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) for accurate documentation, treatment tracking, and compliance with agency standards.
• Contribute to team meetings and clinical case discussions to enhance patient outcomes and share best practices.
• Participate in training and supervision programs to maintain licensure and enhance your professional skill set.
• Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA, to protect client confidentiality.

As a Mental Health Counselor at Deep Understanding Healthcare Services, you will work primarily with individuals experiencing mental health issues, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders. Our clients are drawn from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, necessitating a flexible and inclusive approach to treatment. Your expertise will help empower clients to overcome personal challenges such as low self-esteem, family issues, and crises related to substance use or suicidal tendencies.

• Master’s degree in a human services-related field.
• Active state licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LICSW in the District of Columbia.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation.
• Ability to manage stress, meet productivity expectations, and maintain a professional demeanor in challenging situations.
• Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other relevant software to document client progress and treatment plans.

• Previous experience providing telehealth services or working in a remote healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and adapt counseling techniques to meet varying needs.
• Experience in crisis intervention or crisis management in a mental health setting.
