Job description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | CORPORATE CONTROLLER | RESIDENTIAL SERVICES | Remote (East Coast preferred)

A newly launched, investor-backed national platform is building its corporate finance function from the ground up. The company acquires and integrates well-run local operators in the residential services industry, keeping the brand, team, and reputation that made each business successful while centralizing the financial systems and support needed to scale. This is the platform's first corporate finance hire -- a ground-floor opportunity to build the function, not step into one that already exists. The right person will work directly with the founders, own how the finance organization is built, and have a defined path to grow into a VP of Finance or CFO role as the platform expands.

  • Anticipated $175,000-$225,000+, based on experience level
  • Health coverage and PTO; 401(k) program in development
  • Incentive equity possible -- details to be finalized
  • Fully remote; East Coast working hours preferred

Overview

  • Build the company's financial infrastructure from scratch: chart of accounts, close process, reporting cadence, internal controls
  • Lead financial integration of each newly acquired business onto platform-level systems -- accounting, payroll, banking, reporting
  • Own monthly and quarterly consolidated reporting across all entities for the founders and investors
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital across a multi-entity structure
  • Partner directly with the founders on acquisition financial due diligence and post-close integration planning
  • Help select and stand up platform-level financial systems as the company scales
  • Build, and eventually lead, a small accounting/finance team

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strongly Preferred -- Hands-on experience integrating acquired businesses onto shared financial systems, payroll, and reporting structures
  • Strongly Preferred -- Experience in a residential services/trades vertical (HVAC, plumbing, roofing, pest control, garage doors, landscaping, or similar)
  • 8-10+ years of overall accounting/finance experience
  • 5+ years working inside an acquisitive, multi-entity platform
  • Comfortable building processes and systems from scratch, with no existing framework to lean on
  • Strong self-starter, able to operate with significant ambiguity
  • Background at a private equity-backed platform
  • Track record supporting M&A financial due diligence and integration planning
  • Plus: Experience with Sage Intacct, ServiceTitan, ADP
  • Plus: Experience migrating an acquired business from a smaller system (e.g., QuickBooks) onto an enterprise platform
