ABOUT THE ROLE

Paladin, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Green Building Certification Specialist to help deliver quality services for our client's projects and meet their sustainability goals. As a Green Building Certification Specialist, you will be responsible for rating systems (LEED, Green Globes, WELL, Energy Star, etc.) project work such as defining targets, collecting data, analyzing parameters, and preparing final reports within our customers' projects. You will be responsible for managing the deliverable and preparing or implementing the modeling process with intent to show that results achieved match or exceed client targets.

This is a full time position out of our Lexington, KY office and can be on-site, hybrid, or remote. If remote, you will be expected to travel to our Lexington, KY office for events and meetings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Drive new sustainability initiatives by identifying project goals, targeting methods for positive feedback, and enhancing Paladin's offering to clients
  • Develop accurate models and deliverables to support emissions reductions, energy cost reductions, and similar targeted outcomes
  • Read and interpret construction documents (floor plans, mechanical systems, landscape, etc.)
  • Complete rating system documentation and respond to third party review comments
  • Maintain project budgets to deliver analysis and sustainability deliverables correctly and on time
  • Provide weekly reports on assigned metrics, projects, and communications
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers and makes meeting customer needs a top priority
  • Follow rating systems such as LEED, Green Globes, WELL, etc. for stakeholder reporting
  • Manage the production of the deliverables in a high-quality manner consistent with stated standards and compliance paths for certification programs, where applicable
  • Develop presentation data for clients and A/E/C community
  • Deliver documents that are well-written, technically accurate, and well-formatted
  • Mentor and give feedback to internal and external teams
  • Duties will be added, removed, or modified as necessary

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Engineering, Building Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Energy and Sustainability Policy or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of sustainability experience within the A/E/C industry
  • Understanding of structure, enclosure systems, mechanical design, and the general design and construction process
  • Experience using Engineering and Construction software, such as Revit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Rhino, Procore, AutoDesk 360, Climate Studio, IES, OneClick and similar programs
  • LEED AP with BD+C or ID+C, WELL AP, SITES AP credentials preferred, and LEED Administration experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and how they are applied
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision while planning, scheduling, organizing, and completing tasks within established deadlines
  • Knowledge of construction processes and procedures
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial environment

  • Extended periods of time working on a computer and computer accessories (keyboard, mouse, etc)
  • Local travel for client meetings or to job sites <5%
