What is remote health coaching?

Remote health coaching is a professional service where health coaches work with clients virtually, using digital tools like video calls, phone calls, or messaging apps. The goal is to support individuals in making healthier lifestyle choices, such as improving nutrition, increasing physical activity, managing stress, or achieving wellness goals. Remote health coaches provide personalized guidance, motivation, and accountability without requiring in-person meetings, making support more accessible and flexible for clients. This approach can be especially beneficial for people who have busy schedules or live in areas with limited access to health professionals.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote health coach?

To thrive as a Remote Health Coach, you need a solid understanding of nutrition, wellness practices, and behavior change strategies, often supported by certifications like NBC-HWC or ACE Health Coach. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, health tracking apps, and secure communication tools is typically required. Strong motivational interviewing skills, empathy, and effective virtual communication help you connect with and support clients remotely. These skills and qualities are crucial for fostering client engagement, delivering personalized support, and achieving positive health outcomes in a virtual setting.

How do remote health coaches collaborate with clients and other healthcare professionals?

Remote health coaches often use digital platforms such as video calls, messaging apps, and specialized health coaching software to maintain regular communication with clients. They work closely with clients to set health goals, track progress, and provide ongoing support. Additionally, health coaches may coordinate with nutritionists, physicians, or therapists to ensure a holistic approach to each client's wellbeing. This collaborative environment requires strong communication skills and adaptability to different technologies and client needs.

Job description

Join our team. Dream big. And achieve more than you thought possible.
We're an innovative e-comm and healthcare brand building something big and straightforward: the best place for those over 45 to get real health care that helps them feel strong, healthy, and happy as they get older.
Help Build the Future of Women's Health
We're hiring board-certified Family Nurse Practitioners to provide thoughtful, personalized care at scale for women 45+ navigating hormone, metabolic, and weight-related changes.
Currently we are looking for remote and/ or teammtes seeking to work in person in our Branson, MO location
Our patients want to feel stronger, healthier, and more confident as they age. Many have already been told their labs are "fine," offered an antidepressant, or left with no one managing the actual problems. They come to us with real concerns: hormonal changes, weight gain, fatigue, low energy, and the frustration of not feeling like themselves.
You'll evaluate patients, develop individualized care plans, manage follow-ups, review labs, respond to asynchronous clinical requests, and prescribe treatments when medically appropriate, legally permitted, and within your scope of practice.
Our platform supports care across:
  • GLP-1-based weight management
  • Testosterone and HRT (when clinically appropriate)
  • Metabolic and longevity care
  • Peptide therapies
  • [Next] Suboxone medication-assisted treatment, as we expand this service

This is a remote, high-accountability role for a clinician who can move with urgency without sacrificing sound judgment, thorough documentation, or patient safety.
You'll have the technology, workflows, administrative support, pharmacy coordination, and patient-care infrastructure to focus on what matters most: caring for patients and solving problems.
We are not looking for someone who wants to simply clock in, complete tasks, and wait for instructions.
We're looking for someone who:
  • Genuinely cares about patients and treats them like individuals.
  • Is comfortable managing a high-volume telehealth queue.
  • Follows proven protocols while exercising independent clinical judgment.
  • Responds quickly and communicates clearly.
  • Takes ownership of problems instead of passing them along.
  • Speaks up when a workflow or protocol needs improvement.
  • Executes direction without constant supervision.
  • Is humble, coachable, and serious about becoming excellent.

Join us if you want meaningful responsibility, a fast learning curve, and the opportunity to help build a healthcare company that patients genuinely trust.
โ€ข Responsibilities
  • Provide at least 20 hours per week of scheduled clinical coverage, including video visits, asynchronous care, and EHR/CRM support
  • Review and approve patient intake forms, medical histories, lab results, and treatment requests within your licensed scope.
  • Evaluate patients and make independent clinical decisions based on their history, symptoms, medications, allergies, labs, and clinical presentation.
  • Prescribe, adjust, renew, or discontinue medications when medically appropriate, legally permitted, and within your scope of practice.
  • Support patient care across metabolic health, weight management, hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapies, and other approved service lines.
  • Respond to patient questions and clinical concerns
  • Provide clear instructions regarding medication use, dosage, administration, potential side effects, contraindications, and follow-up requirements.
  • Conduct follow-up visits and monitor patient progress, treatment response, adherence, and safety
  • Communicate effectively with care coordinators, pharmacies, and other members of the team.
  • Help us improve the patient experience by identifying recurring problems and proposing practical solutions.

Qualifications
  • An active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort providing care remotely and using electronic health record systems.
  • Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate, evidence-based care.
  • Active, unrestricted licenses in multiple states
  • Active DEA license

Role Logistics
  • Location: Fully remote within the United States OR
  • In-Person: Branson, Missouri (Starting in Jan 1,2027)
  • Schedule: Part-time / Opportunity for Full-time

Benefits
Startvim's model is built to give clinicians more time for patients, fewer administrative distractions, and the support of a high-caliber team
  • Flexibility: Set your own schedule for optimal work-life balance.
  • Work from Home: Collaborate with our team through secure telehealth and clinical systems.
  • Significant Administrative Support: You focus on patient care, and we'll handle scheduling, insurance verification, billing, prior authorizations, pharmacy coordination, etc.
  • Commitment to Responsible Prescribing and High-Quality Care: We have rigorous, evidence-based protocols and provide objective diagnostic tools to ensure responsible and ethical prescriptions of controlled substances.
  • Legal Protection: We will provide full malpractice insurance coverage.
  • Clinical autonomy: Exercise independent medical judgment within clear, evidence-based protocols.
  • Licensure and DEA Coverage: We'll reimburse you for all fees associated with getting licensed in other states as required by Startvim.
  • Credentialing Support: We handle all aspects and costs of credentialing with a large number of insurance plans, including commercial, ACA, and government, ensuring your legal and effective authorization within insurance networks.
  • Monthly Pay: We pay our providers every month for immediate financial benefit and planning ease.
  • Culture of Excellence through Innovation: Actively participate in ushering in a new era of women's health care through superior clinical care and technology.
  • Resources: We provide premium subscriptions to resources such as UpToDate and AI tools

WHO WE ARE & HOW WE OPERATE
We're a hard-driving, fast-paced team of continuous improvers-a team, not a family-hiring and developing stars (leaders) in every role. We live by six core beliefs that drive massive success:
Remarkable: Go the extra mile to create jaw-dropping experiences (JDCE) that turn first-timers into re-order loyalists-we're in the reorder business. Develop unique superpowers; do what competitors won't.
Adaptable: Lifelong learners who grow or die-learn fast, fail fast, grab ideas anywhere, simplify everything, and proactively fix/improve everything around you.
Accountable: Own your outcomes like it's your company - be demanding yet supportive, 100% responsibility, share updates in Slack/Kustomer (our collective brain), own mistakes and fix them fast.
Speed is King: Act now over perfection; good executed today beats perfect next week. Maniacal urgency, get sh*t done measurably, predisposed to action and efficiency.
Don't Sugar Coat It: Tell the truth straight - tough talks help growth; - uncomfortable conversations fuel progress; no avoidance, speak up respectfully.
Humble: Think of the business first - admit gaps, share wins, own losses, pick what's right over who's right.
