Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW
At GeorgeJon, we don't just deliver projects-we engineer outcomes. As a Delivery Manager, you own the end-to-end delivery of mission-critical infrastructure engagements-from kickoff through closeout-ensuring work lands on time, in scope, and with clear business impact.
You'll lead governance and execution across a Delivery and Implementation team, coordinating engineers, stakeholders, and customers through complex VMware, Windows Server, storage, networking, and disaster recovery work. You bring the technical fluency to drive decisions, the discipline to run change control, and the urgency to remove blockers before they become outages.
Success in this role looks like predictable delivery cadence, transparent status, clean handoffs, and stakeholders who never have to guess where a project stands. If you thrive in high-ownership delivery and want to be the operational force that turns strategy into execution, let's talk. This is a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own delivery for assigned engagements, accountable for schedule, scope, resourcing, and customer outcomes
  • Contract deliverables (e.g., Relativity/Nuix deployments, SQL upgrades, Windows/OS upgrades, infrastructure refreshes)
  • Assigned overflow initiatives as directed (e.g., laptop kits or other delivery workstreams)
  • Contract deliverables (Relativity, Nuix, SQL upgrades, Windows, OS upgrades, etc.)
  • Overflow of specific projects designated by the Sr. Director of Delivery
  • Run risk and issue management: maintain registers, escalate early, and drive decisions to closure with clear owners and dates
  • Lead customer and internal delivery cadences (kickoffs, weekly status, technical checkpoints), surfacing risks, decisions, and next steps without ambiguity
  • Plan and coordinate engineering assignments by skill, capacity, and priority; adjust quickly as scope or timelines change
  • Facilitate technical decisions with engineering and infrastructure teams, ensuring tradeoffs, impacts, and approvals are documented and aligned
  • Protect scope and enforce change control: assess impact, secure approvals, and communicate adjustments before work shifts
  • Maintain delivery artifacts that stand up to audit: project plans, decision logs, risks/issues, change requests, and final handoff documentation
  • Provide executive-ready reporting (weekly status, milestone progress, risks, decisions, and next steps) and publish meeting notes within 24 hours
  • Drive post-project retrospectives and convert lessons learned into tracked improvements (templates, checklists, governance upgrades)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor portfolio health and trends (delivery metrics, recurring risks, escalations) and recommend corrective actions before performance slips
  • Improve delivery scalability: standardize templates, tighten intake and kickoff, and reduce rework through better governance
  • Forecast staffing needs with leads and resource owners; surface capacity gaps and sequencing recommendations early
  • Evolve delivery standards and workflows to improve predictability, transparency, and customer experience across engagements

ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Deliver consistent execution quality: predictable timelines, controlled scope, and proactive risk management across assigned projects
  • Maintain complete, current system-of-record updates (notes, decisions, next steps, and status) so handoffs and leadership visibility are never compromised
  • Continuously refine delivery practices to reduce cycle time, prevent repeat issues, and meet evolving client and organizational needs
  • Communicate with executive clarity: concise updates, explicit asks, and documented decisions that keep customers and internal teams aligned

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Proven delivery leadership for technical or infrastructure projects (especially on-prem), with a track record of predictable outcomes
  • Working knowledge across VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, storage, and disaster recovery to guide delivery decisions
  • Strong delivery governance: milestone planning, change control, risk escalation, and stakeholder alignment that holds under pressure
  • Executive-level communication and the ability to drive ownership across cross-functional teams-without losing technical accuracy
  • Technical fluency to challenge assumptions, facilitate decisions, and translate engineering details into customer-ready language (without performing work directly in client environments)
  • Comfortable in service and project management tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Asana) with disciplined system-of-record habits
  • Highly organized and detail-driven; able to prioritize multiple complex projects and keep dependencies moving
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams) and comfortable operating in a remote, high-velocity environment
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and calm under pressure-biasing toward action, clarity, and follow-through
