Job description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Healthcare Analytics Engineer I. This role will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, data engineers, and clinical leaders to produce deliverables for internal and external clients.   • Use best software engineering practices to implement quality measures, risk adjustment models, and other metrics for datasets originating from internal and external clients.
  • Develop high quality, maximally available data models which are intuitive to data analysts and trusted by stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance/upgrade the existing Risk Adjustment score calculator for generating RAF scores for the Medicare Advantage population.
  • Adept at building scalable data solutions and collaborating with downstream analysts to ensure clarity and usability of datasets related to Risk Adjustment, RAF scores, and HCC gap closure
  • Build scalable ELT pipelines and business intelligence dashboards as needed, embracing automation wherever possible. 
  • Acquire deep domain knowledge in healthcare operations and track regulatory developments related to analytical products you maintain.
  • Apply data quality checks which proactively identify data issues and distributional shifts to ensure accuracy of downstream analytical products.
  • With guidance, take ownership of one or several reporting domains, interfacing business stakeholders to understand and deliver their requests.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, analytics, statistics, or related field; master's degree preferred. 
  • Expertise in Azure Databricks, PySpark, and SQL, specializing in Medicare Advantage Risk Adjustment and Quality Metrics
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including documentation, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. 
  • Experience in working with large datasets. 
  • Experience with cloud-computing platforms such as Azure. 
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry
  • Familiarity with database management systems such as MongoDB or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • This position is remotely based in the U.S.
  • The total compensation target pay range for this role is: $115,000 - $130,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location (current or future), experience, and other job-related factors.
