Better Living Behavioral Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team as a Mental Health Counselor. • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ needs and develop personalized treatment plans that align with their goals.
• Facilitate therapeutic sessions using evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
• Provide psychoeducation on harm reduction models, guiding clients in their choices regarding moderation versus abstinence.
• Maintain open communication with clients, demonstrating strong clinical engagement and empathy throughout their recovery journey.
• Encourage clients to utilize community recovery support resources like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and SMART Recovery, highlighting their complementary role to our services.
• Administer and oversee group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for peer support and shared experiences.
• Participate in administrative activities as necessary, leveraging support from our dedicated team to handle billing and scheduling.
• Engage in optional professional activities, including collaborating on expert insights with our Content Manager and leading support groups.
• Stay actively involved in professional development by securing continuing education units (CEUs), with all costs covered by the organization.

Our client population primarily consists of individuals grappling with alcohol use challenges, seeking support that ranges from moderation strategies to total abstinence. Many of our clients are looking for a community-oriented approach to recovery, thriving in settings where they can openly discuss their experiences and support each other. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating these discussions and navigating clients through their recovery journeys.

• Current LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC license valid in the state of California.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Care.
• Strong engagement skills with the ability to foster a trusting and empathetic therapeutic relationship.
• Deep understanding of community recovery resources and the ability to connect clients with these services.

While we welcome applications from new graduates, experience in a clinical or outpatient setting focusing on addiction and substance use disorders is highly desirable. Familiarity with harm-reduction approaches and previous involvement with support groups will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Our competitive salary ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, alongside potential bonuses.
