Job description


The Enterprise Process Improvement Analyst (EPIA) will work within the Enterprise Process Improvement team to support Harbor Freight Tools' long-term vision to be the best place to work and the best place to shop.
The EPIA provides day-to-day support for process improvement initiatives by assisting with process documentation, requirements gathering, meeting coordination, action item tracking, training materials, communications, reporting, and other activities that help teams successfully implement and sustain improvements.
This role helps maintain process documentation, collect and organize business information, prepare materials for workshops and meetings, support training and adoption activities, and ensure project and process-related information remains accurate and up to date.
This role primarily supports Product Development, Project Management, Merchandising, Global Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Legal and Compliance, Inventory. The role may also support cross-functional improvement efforts in Marketing, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, Finance, HR, and other areas based on business priorities and team capacity.
This role partners with Enterprise Business Systems when processes involve tools, reporting, automation, or AI-enabled capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support process improvement initiatives and business projects by assisting with documentation, coordination, communication, and implementation activities.
  • Gather, organize, and document business requirements, process information, decisions, action items, and supporting materials.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates, training materials, and knowledge resources.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, presentation materials, meeting notes, status updates, and action item trackers to support project and process improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate activities across Business, Project Management, Enterprise Process Improvement, and Enterprise Business Systems teams to support project and implementation needs.
  • Support testing, training, communication, rollout, and adoption activities for new processes, tools, reports, and ways of working.
  • Help prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and other materials that provide visibility into project progress, priorities, and business results.
  • Maintain documentation standards, templates, playbooks, SharePoint content, knowledge libraries, and other reusable team resources.
  • Support AI, automation, reporting, and digital transformation initiatives through research, documentation, testing, training, and adoption activities.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of AI-enabled resources, prompts, reporting tools, templates, and team best practices.
  • Support Project Managers, Operations, and Business Systems teams with implementation activities, process rollouts, and ongoing business improvement efforts.
  • Track action items, risks, issues, dependencies, and follow-up activities to help ensure work progresses as planned.
  • Maintain accurate project, process, and operational information while providing timely updates and communicating status, questions, and follow-up needs.
  • Seek clarification when information is incomplete or changing and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to support successful outcomes.
  • Continuously develop process improvement, business analysis, communication, project coordination, and AI-related skills through training and hands-on experience.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $69,500 - $104,200 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.

  • 2+ years of experience in Product Development, Process Improvement, Operations, Merchandising, Project Management, or a related field

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments, meetings, deadlines, and action items.
  • Ability to gather information, document requirements, maintain records, and keep project and process information organized and up to date.
  • Experience creating process documentation, workflows, SOPs, training materials, meeting notes, action item trackers, and communication materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly summarize information for different audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Tableau, and process documentation tools such as Visio or Miro.
  • Experience using project management and work management platforms (e.g., Workfront, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar tools) to support project plans, templates, workflows, task dependencies, reporting, and execution activities.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools) to support research, documentation, communication, and productivity.
  • Ability to support reporting, presentations, status updates, and other business communications.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively across teams and respond to changing priorities.
Physical Requirements

  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
